Not as authentic as I hoped it would be, but still good. I got the yam fries to start and although they were cooked well, the sauce it comes with didn’t go well with them in my opinion. It was like a sour cream consistency, and tasted like caesar dressing with lemon in it. My main dish was the traditional Ropa Vieja (Translation: Old Clothes) was okay. What drew me to this dish was the Cuban style pulled pork and plantains. The pork was juicy and easy to eat, but it needs a little kick to it. There wasn’t anything that made me want to eat this till I was full of pork in my belly. Plantains weren’t sweet, rather bland and would have been nice with a little sour cream drizzled on top. Beans were good, but again would have been nice with a little spice to give it that kick. Glad I tried, but wouldn’t be eager to go back.

After escaping, hungry, from our last Venice beach stop, we nipped in here to take our bearings. We could not have been better looked after. The spinach and artichoke dip was fresh, hot and flavoursome and the staff were friendly, efficient and friendly. Good, reasonably priced cocktails too

Changed my life!. We don’t have much in the way of Cuban fare in Australia, so didn’t know what to expect when I went to Mercedes with a friend who is a local. What can I say – everything was SUPERB! I am now addicted to their pulled pork sandwich! I had it on every possible occasion, and it was my last meal, specially made since it was dinner time and the sandwich is a lunch item, before I flew out.The black beans and fried plantains were delicious as well.LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!

Latin Breakfast a hit!!!. Visited Venice Beach and have many choices but this place stood out because of their location and breakfast menu. Needless to say that it was worth the trip and enjoyed the Huevos Rancheros with black beans, rice and plantains…..and my boyfriend had the Huevos con Plantanos y Frittata……it was fantastic!

Delicious Huevos Rancheros! Reasonably priced with outdoor seating providing a view of Washington Boulevard and the entrance to the pier. Service was average during lunch.
