I visited LA recently and this restaurant was one of the major highlights of my entire trip. I just wish they had a Piccolo Paradiso clone in northern California where I live. Here is why: DELICIOUS authentic Italian food. My lasagnette with pesto was SUPERB. My banana cream dessert was SUBLIME. I felt like I was in dessert heaven. The entire staff were so friendly, professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Our waiter-Luca-was FANTASTIC. He could teach waiters in other restaurants how to do the job. The ambiance was warm and inviting. The prices were very reasonable considering the great quality of the entire dining experience. I HIGHLY recommend Piccolo Paradiso to anyone visiting LA.

So fine I returned the next night!. It is shameful of me to take so long to write this review. I was in LA in late March and found this restaurant on my Zagat app. I went there rather early and dined alone. Typically the tasting menu is reserved for at least two guests but, because I was there early before service got crazy, they allowed me to order it. What an experience! The wine steward was my server, and he did a marvelous job pairing wines with my courses. From the venison carpaccio to the rabbit tagliatelle to the nettle gnocchi (yum), I was blown away; there were six courses in all and an excellent wine pairing for each. (Alas, I cannot recall all the wines now that six weeks have passed.) The service was truly exceptional: he was careful to talk to me about each wine and made my dining experience extremely pleasant. I didn’t feel like I was dining alone at all. The whole thing was such a good experience (food+wine+service) that I decided to do something I believe I’ve never done before — I went back the second night for a repeat performance. And, I’m happy to say, it was every bit as good in every way, and I had six entirely new courses (though some wines were repeated). The standouts were the chocolate ravioli with ricotta and caviar and the tenderloin, but the whole meal was inventive, tasty, exquisite, delicious. Several reviews have mentioned cost, but I had so much fun I can’t really remember what it cost. And what is money for if not to eat like this?

Bellissimo incredible allimentre. Highly recommended by the Lowe’s concerige, this was a wonderful find. the atmosphere was superb with food to match. A great wine list and wonderful service. Next time in the area, I will go back.

A gem not to be missed!. Everything is spot on. Service, atmosphere, and food are beyond what you would expect to find in Venice Beach.

OMG. Haven’t been here for a few years so decided to return. Have enlarged, very nice addition. Apparently your cell phone won’t work inside so everyone walks outside every 5-10mins so avoid sitting next to the door. Food is the same, outstanding! Had a homemade spaghetti in Sea Urchin but the dish of this trip was the nettle gnocchi in a shrimp sauce with chppped langoustines. Have never seen such small, tender delicious gnocchi. Could have eaten 3 of these dishes it was soooo goooood!!!! Only one complaint: they put a pistachio crust over their panna cotta, I mean ALL over, and it was inedible. They handled this well, though.

Way overpriced. Unimpressive menu selection. Snobby waiter with a bad personality. I’m sorry…but if you pay $152 for two caprese appetizers and three pasta dishes..no wine or other drinks..you should at least get friendly service. The food was so-so and the room was really, really loud. Not recommended!

Best Italian food in L.A.. I have been to Piccolo 4 or 5 times and always have a great experience. I love the small, comfortable feel of the restaurant and I am always happy with the service. But the best thing about Piccolo is the food – of course! Having traveled through out Italy many I can say that without a doubt this is exactly like the real, modern Italian food you will get in Italy’s best restaurants. If you are looking for meatballs this isn’t your place. If you want REAL italian, come to Piccolo.
