Amazing pastas. Perfectly prepared entrees. And an incredible bar selection. Scopa offers fun, and filling fare that is great for sharing and experiencing in a family-style manner. I love the high ceilings and beautiful mirrored back bar. It reminds me of Chicago with its expansive scale and solid furnishings. It can get crowded, so make a reservation for weekend dining
Nope.. Too dark, too loud, too crowded restaurant with a bit of a fussy menu. Forget about switching up your pastas and sauces, they won’t change the dish for you. I was stuck with something I didn’t really want. Antipasti plates tasted adequate but the pasta dishes were fresh and delicious. No side/starter salads on the menu and didn’t realize we were going to get pricy bottled water when tap would have been fine. They also like to clear your plates in a bit of a hurry which made us feel a little rushed. Interesting experiment but probably won’t be back.
The Veal Chop is the best I ever had. The Fluffernutter (fried banana, marshmellow and peanut butter) is a rich excellent desert. Drink a lot of water. The pasta I sampled were the contemporary non-tomatoey pastas and were good. Definitely a repeat, or a regular if I lived here.
