HORRIBLE SERVICE. I have been going to Bistro Ka from the opening easily dropping 100 to 150 at least twice a month in this restaurant. We always had Tammy as our server who was decent. The owner is HORRIBLE. We have be going here for years and I called on Christmas Eve to make sure there hours were the same and the hostess told us they were. We get there place our order and we are told that we have to order everything in 15 mins because they are closing early. I called to make sure that the hours were the same and now you are closing early. We asked for the owner who said well I have some paper work to do so if you order everything you can sit and eat but the kitchen will be closed. Anyone who enjoys sushi knows you don’t order everything all at once you take your time, and also they wanted us to down a bottle of Saki as well. We let it go because it was Christmas Eve and we had no where else to eat. So two weeks ago I called to book a back room for a party of 15 people. I booked it for 8:30 and the hostess said okay see you then. My husband said wait asked what time they close. The hostess said oh we are closing at 9:00 tonight so you will have to order everything by 8:45. REALLY BISTRO KA!!! So again I talked to the manager over the phone and he could NOT CARE about us. So this is it Bistro Ka I have had minor complaints over the years but now I am done. You did not appreciate us as customer so we will not be back. The food is not the worst but not the best either. We went to BANZAI in Calabasas last week and not only was the service and food amazing, they gave us a free roll and free round of drinks. We will now be going to BANZAI SUSHI!
Nicely balanced. We were surprise that they have really nice Japanese Restaurant inside the mall (Topanga West Field Mall) which usually only fast food (junk) in the mall. But this Bistro Ka is excellent. We went there last Friday, started with easy parking in the garage in front of the restaurant. Nicely and kindly greeted by the host and we were seated at the table. Nice atmosphere. Our waitress always coming with big smile, I don’t know if other people will appreciate that, but we certainly appreciate the smile she had for us, its just so welcoming. So we ordered spider roll, caterpillar roll, live sweet shrimp, live sea urchin, and live scallop its really-really-really good. I can not believe what my tongue tasted it. And we were lucky enough to be there before happy hour ended, so we enjoyed the $2 off for wine and sake. That was really nice restaurant, we will come again.
