Good but watch what you order. 1. DON’T ORDER the Hawaiian Martini absolutely awful – somebody should prohibit pineapple and gin together the Opakaka – not very good and the wait staff was pushing it2. ORDER Canoe for 2 tasty and great for sharing Short ribs – ooh la la Scallops – yumPeople are friendly & service is very good – they took back the martini and did not charge for it. Like the restaurant vibe, not so noisy that you have to shout to be heard
Two more things. The desserts are great, except for the baked apple which no one ate. And, parking was difficult on Saturday night. There’s a whole parking structure right there, but Roy’s and Fleming’s patrons are squeezed into a not-big-enough surface lot. What’s that about?17 Jan, 2011Great apps, desserts. First time here and it was a lot of fun, if a little loud. The appetizers, sushi rolls and desserts were great. So were the special ‘fresh hawaiian’ drinks. The only low point was the specialty of the house, the ‘tombu’ fish entree. The fish didn’t have much flavor by itself. Some liked the sauce and some didn’t. Same for the Cheddar Cheese Grits. We might try other entrees, or just skip them and order more appetizers!
Great service and food!. Service and food were impeccable. short ribs were delicious and melt in your mouth tender. best thing was the hot chocolate souffle…not meant to be shared so order your own! yumo! while dinners were being cooked, they were attentive to our 2 daughters and brought out complimentary quesadilla appetizers and apples for them to snack on. they also took them both on a tour of the kitchen and let them watch as the chef made desserts!
Not like other Roy’s. We were really disappointed with the Roy’s in Woodland Hills. Our first experience was on Maui and we’ve also been to the one in New York (prior to 9/11). We were seated in the back, near the kitchen and back door to the restrooms. It was on a weekend, and it was very noisey. Our service was mediocre and the food was not something to write home about! We will never go back, unless we decide to give it another chance, perhaps on a weekday just when they open, so we might get some decent service, better food and an acceptable table.
