  VERY RUDE STAFF – STAY AWAY. Very Rude staff if you are not Oriental.Right from when I walked in, I knew it was going to be one of those experiences. An older Japanese woman guided me to a table and looked at me like I was crazy when I asked if I could get a seat in the corner that was less noisy.The food itself was OK – nothing to write home about. Basically a good deal if you want to stuff yourself and care nothing about taste. If you are looking for moderate amounts of quality, tasty food then this is NOT for you. Also, the price advertised in large lettering outside is only for Weekday lunch. All other times are more expensive. I don’t like the way they make you think you will be paying a lower price and then sneak the true price on you.However, the real insult happened when I paid up and was leaving. I had ordered a large bottle of fermented rice alcohol (not sake) and had finished about half of it. Naturally, as I had paid for it, I figured I could take the rest of the bottle home and finish it with dinner the next day. As I am walking out, these Japanese guys start SCREAMING and come RUNNING at me and SNATCH the half finished bottle out of my hands. The bottle that I have PAID full price for. They claim that even though I have paid for it, bottles aren’t allowed to leave the restaurant or some such thing.I was so disgusted I just left without any further argument but I certainly didn’t appreciate being treated like a criminal by these punks.I will NEVER come back here and I would advise everyone else to do the same.

  Best outside Japan. A friend and I visited Todai. Both of us have been in Japan a number of times and we both thought Todai was the best we have seen outside Japan. Dinner had more varieties than lunch.
