ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! Chicken was fried to perfection. First time trying such a badass combination. Got the famous Scoes which was 2 fluffy waffles and two pieces of fried chicken. I saw that everyone was cutting a piece of chicken then eating it together with the waffles and syrup. I tried it and my mind was blown! had to go there again the next day for dinner again and tried some more beautiful soul food. this time getting the greens and cornbread with Chicken and mac n cheese. Love this place also love the decor with beautiful images of faith. Love and family!
This is a huge building just for roscoes, the ones in la are Tiny compared to these.Having such a big restaurant you would think you would be able to sit or stand inside. It was prettty cold yesterday and after giving the hostess our name, we asked if we could wait inside, she said no lol because they needed to keep it clear!!I was like wtf!?! What if it’s raining? Do we get soaked waiting outside? Made no sense.A couple and their two kids were freezing outside as well. We were seated, it took forever for someone to get our order.Even though they took forever, our food DID NOT take forever to come out, it was actually pretty darn fast.If it would of taken forever I would of taken a star off but they deserve that star. They need to work on customer service for sure though.Food was just as good as the other roscoesNow those are real greens!Nom nom nomChicken and waffles were great! The corn bread was a little dry so I didn’t eat it.Overall experience was nice in the end. I would come back.
I had the chicken livers and grits. Haven’t had that since I was a kid it was awesome! We are only here a few days, but we will be back. This is some place to look for if you are in LA.
This is a place that I’m glad I went to because of the reputation it has and the novelty of dining here. The service was super friendly and the food was very good. I recommend the Obama Special.
Recently visited this LA fried chicken mainstay with a group of five. We found the security guard stationedoutside the front door to be a little weird (i.e., the need for one; not that the guardwas aweird guy). The fried chicken was delicious, crispy and moist. The waffles were fairly standard–nothing special. The staff was friendly. Be aware that they have a policy of not giving separate checks to groups so you’re out of luck if you need to be reimbursed for business travel.
Being from Australia, chicken and waffles is a totally new concept to us as we don’t have anything like it anywhere. I’ve heard of it before but never actually knew there was a restaurant specifically dedicated to this amazing dish! I got the number 11 I think, the Carol C special. The fried chicken was the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Hands down. The waffle was also fluffy and delicious and the perfect addition to the crispy and juicy chicken breast. It was a delicious combination between sweet and savoury. The maple syrup was the perfect marriage between the two foods. The service was also brilliant, the servers giving their recommendations to some chicken and waffles novices. We were so impressed with the meal, the service and the whole feeling of the place we even bought some apparel on the way out!
That was a good meal before flying back to Canada…. What a great way to end my stay in California 🙂 I loved the fried chicken here… The chicken was juicy and flavorful – plentiful too. Sure beats Mary Brown’s and KFC up in Canada. It even beats the famous fried chicken place inside Disneyland, what was it, Plaza Inn. The corn bread was sub-par in my opinion – a little too dry and not flavorful enough. The waffles were great though. This chicken waffle meal is also miles better than Hash House a Go Go in Vegas (3535 Las Vegas Blvd S, Las Vegas, NV 89109). Overall, I’m very pleased with this location with the staff and service. I was startled by the security guard greeter person at the front entrance but it was just for my own safety 🙂 I’m cool with that.
