Great place to go if you are in Irvine for Korean food. Be prepared for the whole fried fish (I was taken bysurprise as I was not initiated to Korean food cultures until I came to Irvine!) and order the Galbi. It is worth it.

OPEN 24hrs!!! Holy cow… It’s nice to have a place to come here to satisfy the late night hunger. Rice comes out in steaming stone pots and there is a decent amount of side dishes (Kim Chee, radish, fish cake, salad, potato salad) including a small fried fish which was a nice surprise. The kim Chee also included 1 Raw oyster, which was unexpected (thus, confirmed with waitress they intended for it to be in there). Raw eggs were provided to crack into the hot steaming earthen pots of soup. My seafood tofu soup (soondubu) was good, but as too hearty or filling as it could’ve been. There were a few pieces of squid, a couple wimpy shrimp and clams. Prices were fair and would come back if craving korean good at odd times considering this is open all day, but definitely not in peak business hours considering how jam packed the Diamond Jamboree plaza and parking can get! goodeatsinoc.blogspot.com

Great Food: Subpar service. Let’s start with the least rewarding part of the experience. When we arrived we were seated promptly and our order was taken. That’s the last we saw of our server. A cook brought our food, and another server brought our check. We pushed the button for refills on our beverages three times with absolutely no luck! Appetizers were brought, delicious. Main course was brought, unbelievably good. You can choose your level of spice on any dish, and I must tell you, ordering spicy… it’s not for the faint of heart, they bring it unbelievably hot. Great place, bad service. Definitely worth a try though.

Tofu and much more…. This 24 hr eatery is located in the Diamond Jamboree Asian-centric shopping center. All forms of Soon Du Boo jigae (silken tofu – very custard like), with diners selecting spice level, from traditional to pick your own ingredients. The combination meals consist a bowl of soup in addition to hot plate choice of chicken teriyaki, Kalbi, Bul GoGi, Bibim Bap. Large enough to divide among a large group. Pan chan is offered as is customary to Korean meals.Service is good by Korean standards (they deliver the correct food), but lacking by American standards (no followup, no auto refill beverages) and so the need to flag down and press the buzzer (yes there is one) on the tabletop to attract the attention of a server. English is fairly good with the mature female attendant, but if you are linguistically challenged seek a much younger (teen or early 20’s) server. Food is very good and satisfying in a modern decor setting.

Caution: Bad Service – Decent Food. If you’re in the mood for tofu and you don’t have someone to make it for you, then go to BCD Tofu House. The Chicken Teriyaki and the Spicy Tofu soup combo is good, but the server brought us something else initially.Once we got the Chickent Teriyaki, we were set. Even if you do speak Korean since I’m fluent (just kidding), you will still get questionable service.I just assume it’s part of their charm and business style. This place is open 24 hours which is another plus.Other than that, there is not much else to say.Not much eye candy here except the occasional cutie eating late after work/clubs.

I went there at 7PM on a Friday. It was very noisy. However the food was above my expectation. I will definitely go back.
