Awesome!!!How is this restaurant not reviewed yet!!!!!. Finally some quality indian food! They do a couple of Northern Indian dishes, but the real specialty is the dishes from Andhra Pradesh (situated in the south-eastern coast of India). I lived in that part of the country for a couple of years and some of their dishes reminded me of the flavors from the home cooked meals there. The cuisine is on the spicier side but really tolerable.We got in at the end of the buffet so we sampled a little of everything. It was great!!! Pros- Healthy – Reminds me of a home cooked meal , light and non greasy.- Fresh – A small but not your average indian buffet variety (different take on spinach curry, andhra chicken etc)- Flavorful – Different things tasted different like they should. He hasnt compromised on flavor- Nice owner – Ram is such a humble and friendly person. He asked us not to buy the buffet at 245 coz it was sitting out since 11am.- 7$ is a deal!!!!- They CATER!!Cons- They are only open 11-3, so technically you can grab a bite only 11-230.- Do not come here for the ambience, its a basic 3 booths, and some more tables kinda place.- Hard to find like everyone else said. Best route is Red Hill ave – Sky park circle N and then sky park circle.If you come by Main St and then do executive circle like we did, you will see the block no but you land on the back of the building, you have to keep driving until u see the front. Its a let down going to the indian buffets in OC and seeing the standard greasy gravys – light brown, dark brown and red!!!! And dont miss the Tandoori chicken which apart from being red (most of the times thanks to food color) is not flavorful. Indian food is hard, I get it!! That is because each state’s cooking is different and the restaurants are trying to please a universal palate, but in that pursuit they loose the essence. Vishnu Restaurant is sweet redemption to Indian food. I wish restaurants did what they have done focus on an area and do it well. When food is tasty and healthy you will gather a crowd.
