We were wandering the streets on our first night in LA and were glad we stumbled across this restaurant. Service was outstanding and the food was super quick and we really enjoyed it. I’ve never seen my family of five wolf down so much great food. Alex really looked after us and is a great bloke. Well done and thank you for a great night out. We are also after the play list – great music!!

Dreadful maki. Even below expectations for ‘California’ sushi concoctions; definitely a place to avoid.

Wonderful Sushi and the fastest, most efficient service. Very reasonable prices and large pieces of sushi. Very highly recommended!

Dumpster sushi. Remember Heathcliff? The cartoon alley cat who pulled discarded fish out of dumpsters? I always assumed he ate them. But I think Heathcliff brings them to Ami, who then serves them as sushi to unsuspecting customers.I was really worried that I would be very very ill after dinner, but I was actually ok. Good thing I left a lot of sushi behind, uneaten, which is a first for me. The fish was not only not fresh (some of it was actually spoiled, I think), but the chefs mask the fishy taste with strong flavors that do not belong in sushi — like cumin!I have never had really bad sushi, until I went to Ami. It was also strange that the sushi chef kept asking us whether the sushi was good, almost as if he was afraid to taste the old fish himself. I didn’t tell him it was absolutely horrible, since it’s admirable for a Korean establishment to tackle something challenging like sushi. I left a nice tip and departed quietly. But I will NEVER COME BACK.

Happy hour specials. The sushi is reasonably priced, great tasting, and great happy hour specials.
