The current rating of 3.6 for this place is a shocker. I’ve been to Los Angeles three times so far and have never missed to have this shaved ice cream. The green tea flavored shaved ice cream with sweetened milk is the best one could imagine. This one is only second to the shaved ice cream I’ve had at New York City.
Flavored shaved ice, they called snow cream, it had the texture offrozen soft serve, creamy yet light and refreshing. This was exactlythe ice cream/shaved ice I had in Hong Kong years ago, and there, they called it snow ice.We had the strawberry and the original sweet milk flavor, with almond jelly as add-on. There are many flavors including Asian flavors such as green tea and black sesame, and seasonal taro. Add-ons varies from traditional sweetened condensed milk, grass jelly, boba, egg pudding to sea salt hazelnut crunch, rice cakes, pumpkin spice cornbread, and fruity pebbles.Blockheads shave ice was way better than our Seattle offer here from O Dessert.Perhaps one day, we will see an expansion of this type of dessert in Seattle as well. doofniks.com
My life was forever changed after trying the green tea shaved ice w/strawberries, rice cake balls, and condensed milk here. Certainly, the west coast has it better in terms of desserts. The shaved snow is so soft and fluffy. The taste of the green tea is light and flavorful, the strawberries were sweet, and the rice cake was a delectably chewy addition to the dessert – one definitely distinguishable from tapioca pearls and prepackaged mochi squares. Taiwanese shaved ice has more recently become popular on the east coast but none of the places I’ve been to in NY or MD had the same ice texture or offered rice cakes as a topping choice 🙁 Love this place!
Amazing !. This is so original and definitively the best and most eccentric ice cream you’ll ever eat !!! I had ice cream shave with brownies and it was delicious. The portion is really generous but it’s not as heavy in a stomach as real ice cream.
So weird but so good. Shave Ice? Ice Cream? Still not sure but I’m ok with that
