Bad service.
Hmm… Waited forever for the small skews. I didn’t like how each has to order at least 5 skews, but I guess it makes sense since they’re really small. And since we waited forever, we would finish whatever that was in front of our faces anyway. Pretty good, just a bit pricey..
Delicious but a little pricey…. This place doesn’t look like much on the outside or even the inside but the food is a wonderful revelation. Had the 9 skewer dinner ($27) and ordered an extra skewer (there is a 5 skewer minimum per person so this solved it). Came with salad, soup and appetizer. I am not a huge fan of weired chicken parts (I grew up on some weired cow parts) but I was impressed. The liver was delicate and flavorful. The gizzards were chewy but a surprise and everything else was delicious. The chicken and veggies skewers were the best. Either I was really hungry or 5 skewers of meat per person just isn’t enough. Ordered an extra sald with their home made carrot dressing (amazing!) and a gyoza platter ($7.50, a bit overpriced?). Overall, a bit pricy but a lot of fun and extremely delicious.06 Oct, 2009Fun little gem in Sawtelle!. Rip Off Services. Today, my husband, my 3 years old daughter and I went to this restaurant for a dinner. The food is fine. But the service are terrible. When we get the check, they add 18% gratitude on our check! She said it is because we are new customer! But the fact is we went there before! Besides, I never heard a restaurant will change 18% for 2 adults and one 3 years old kid! The woman is just horrible! So, if you never been there and have a kid, think twice before you step in! They will definitely rip you off!
Bad service. The hostess (slim thin Japanese lady) is extremely rude. Not sure maybe it’s because she can’t speak English but she acted liked this restaurant is the only restaurant in town. They also have weird custom to charge money here and there. We went in a large group and one of them could not eat due to stomach irritation from previous meal. My friend just ordered a hot tea but that slim lady came and gave my friend options to pay $2 for seat or order min. 5 sticks or leave. Also when we tries to pay for out bill, we could not split the bill with more than 2 credit card. They have this policy of charging fees for splitting bill with more than 2 credit cards.Maybe it’s just me but that place gave me the vibe that non-Japanese is not welcomed.Would not go to this place.I’m sure there are other yakitori place in town somewhere.
