Wow! I didn’t know that I had to order a beer to get any service. We order our soft drinks and then waited for 20 minutes before walking out of the place. The waitress had plenty of time to visit surrounding tables (the ones with service from the bar), but could not be bothered to even stop at our table to apologize. As I said–we walked out after 20 minutes. With lots of fine places to eat on the same block, it only made sense to vote with our feet.
Great Boxty – the potato pancake is lovely.
Great Fun & Great Food. This has to be the best Irish pub I’ve ever visited. Located right across the street from the convention center in Long Beach, and crawling distance from most hotels this is the perfect spot. They serve a full menu with fantastic salads, burgers and sandwiches along with their traditional Irish fayre. The specialty was their Fish N’ Chips, best ever! Went great with the Guinness, poured perfectly every time…they really know how to pour it properly. I was in town for 5 days, ended up there every night as this pub had great live music every night and seemed to attract a nice local crowd along with the convention crowd. This pub was for sure the place to be downtown, a must stop when visiting Long Beach. I’ll be back for sure!
