Just Had To Try. I just left Home Cookin Cafe where I had the most delightful lunch – cooked skillfully, large portions and a great price. It was my first time to eat there – I love how it was decorated and it was very clean. I found the staff friendly with a great sense of humor. One thing I noticed is that the staff knew more than a couple of other diners by name as they came in. That says a lot in my book when people enjoy an establishment enough to be on a first name basis…… It felt like home – I plan on going home often.
Just went to this place this morning. One of the other reviewers described our experience perfectly. The server wasn’t friendly and rushed us through our entire meal. They did not greet us and we sat ourselves then she immediately asked us for our orders and every single minute there after until we ordered. The Mexican burger and three egg omlet were good but the eggs benedict sauce seemed like it was almost purely a stick of melted butter. They gave us our check as they served us our food and then we had to ask for a box twice. Overall there are way too many great breakfast places near by with better food and polite servers for any of us to ever consider returning to this place.
Loved it. Stopped in for breakfast and what a nice warm greeting, Very friendly people and I noticed they were the same with all who entered. Food was great love the french toast. Will make it a sure place to go. Prices were good too. Loved the decor.
Food was just ok, and it delivered cold. The server kind of ruined our visit. She asked us if we were ready to order the moment we sat down and every 1 minute thereafter. Then she brought the check immediately after our food was delivered. It was kind of ridiculous! We felt like we were in a fast food joint and we needed to get in and out ASAP!
Morning. I was not greeted at the door and i know it was crowded when i was there. a smile and gesture of hi would of been nice. the waitress did not stop to ask me how the food is while dining or try to connect with me. I had to wait longer for a refill on my coffee. i didnt want to be rude. The food took so long to get out. How long does it take to make an omelet? I understand if it was 10 to 15 minutes but 30 minutes? I didn’t feel important, understood, or energized at all. I got back from a long drive from Glen wood and i was hungry. needs better customer service, other wise the food was great and priced very well.
Great place for breakfast or lunch. Fair prices, good food, big portions, friendly service. I am a regular because I love the place. Try it out be you’ll be glad you did!
