Quick Visit to the Bar. We sat at the bar, because we are locals and because we were on our way to the fall play. The bartender was extremely professional and attentive. The bread was white, but was served with delicious olive oil. I requested something vegan. She hesitated, but pointed to the Capellini al Pomodoro e Aglio Tostato, and suggested I get it without the usual parmesan cheese. I requested extra vegetables (which consisted of a few delicate mushrooms) . It was delicious, but all together the vegetables would not have added up to 1/2 cup serving, and I presume the noodles had eggs in them. Not a vegans dream, but they tried to please. I would give it two carrots.
L’Hostaria. Very average. Service was OK. Expensive for what you get. Did not enjoy zuppa di pesce. Fried calamari was not bad.
Terrible Waiters. The Chef is quite talented. However, be warned, the waiters are both arrogant and ignorant. They bring the food out of the kitchen with NO IDEA who to serve it to. We were a group of 16 and they served the wrong food to 8 of us. I mentioned it to our waiter; he got short with me saying we moved around. Well, we did move and talk but we all returned it our original seats when the food was served. I should have learned from last year. I saw the same waiter remove a partially eaten plate of pasta that he served to the wrong table and re-serve to another patron. YUK!
A simple yet elegant menu. The bar menu is top notch and reasonably priced. The wait staff is prompt and very friendly, they also know the menu and give excellent suggestions.
Great meal and ambiance. Waitstaff rather snobby. Food is excellent, though the salad dressing was quite tart with lemon juice. Sadly, no house merlot. We give it two thumbs up!
Amazing rabbit and veal. The food was great but the attitude of our server was not very enthusiastic.
Excellent fresh pasta, but the luke warm lamb chops were dissapointing, albeit delicious. The service was ok except our server never came to check to see if the food was prepared to our liking. Despite the flaw, we would return. The food is flavorful and the ambience enjoyable.
