This and Bangkok Happy Bowl are pretty much the only two Asian eateries in Aspen. BHB focusses on Thai food, whereas Little Ollie’s tries to do it all. I’m a bit skeptical of a restaurant that tries to do chinese, thai, vietnamese cuisine all at once, but the 6 members of my group enjoyed the meal we ate here. The sesame chicken was a big hit, as was the Mo Po tofu. Meal prices vary, and the decor is not of note.

Garlic Sauce isn’t Vegan??. When you look at the menu at this and most chinese restaurants, it appears there are many options for vegetarians or vegans. Tonight I ask the waitress what options they have for vegan dining. She tells me that all the sauces have chicken base in them. I have the option of bamboo steamed vegetables with tofu without the sauce (usually it is served with garlic sauce, but I am told this is not vegan–I wonder why?). The waitress is perceptive and offers me brown rice. She also brings tamari and srirache hot chili to add flavor to what otherwise would have been quite bland. The vegetables are beautifully steamed. My son, who is a bit easier to please has chicken lo mein–he eats every last morsel. Because there was an option, my waitress was thorough, and the price was right, I give them 3 carrots, make one sauce veggie, and youd get another carrot from me!
Still open, still delicious, still a bargain
