Honestly? My expectations weren’t through the roof when I first came into The Red Onion, pinning it as more of a bar than restaurant. Boy was I wrong. The Red Onion turned out to be my favorite meal in Aspen.Star 1: How was the service and atmosphere?The bar was loud, but the service was excellent. Our server was brilliant, and gave my party a nice history of Aspen. Star Granted.Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost?Look at this burger. Seriously… look at it below…Grilled onions, jalapeos, spicy fries, pepper jack cheese. The list goes on. Unfortunately, I paid $14.50 pre-tax and tip for that burger, which is waaaaayyy too much. No Star Granted.Stars 3 and 4: How was the food?While I was a bit disappointed with the price, this was seriously an amazing burger. Every ingredient tasted fresh, and the whole experience was wonderful. Dual Stars Granted.Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could?I’m on the fence here, so half star.

Came here with my husband, we were seated fairly quickly as we opted to sit on the patio. Our server came about 10 minutes after we were seated, asked what we would like to drink. We each ordered a drink as well as an appetizer to share. Once we were finished ordering that, our server took our menus. We were there to have an early dinner… so we wanted more than just an app..We could not find our server, so we had to ask the host for our menus back. We were then told that our server thought we were done ordering. I was so excited to go to this restaurant, and I left so bummed.The food was alright, frankly I would have been happier going to a chain for dinner that night.I can say for sure I will not be back. marciefrantz.blogspot.com
Awful as a group. Hi,I came as a group and some of us were vegetarian. They knew this. The options were a salad or portobello sandwich. We went for the sandwich because a $20 salad sounds sad. The sandwich came out cold and small. When we asked to have it heated up, it came out cold again. Don’t go here. It’s a depressing waste of money. I would rather just go for fast food. Sucks.
The ahi tuna sandwich is good. Spicy fries are really spicy but ketchup masks some of it. Really good though. Ordered to go so don’t know about serivce
Yumm!. Had the BAT sandwich. It was great. My husband had the fish & chips, which was ok…but they weren’t cooked fully. (breading was a bit moist still). Bartender was nice, very reasonably priced for the Aspen area. We’d go there again for beers & snacks!
Good food and presentation. Must try the BBQ wings! Bone in wings with a spicy but sweet BBQ sauce-delicious! Friendly service and quite a few televisions for entertainment.
