Overpriced and small portions. I had the Toscanini salad and it was swimming in dressing, so bad I could barely eat it. I could make a better salad at home. We also had Butternut Squash Agnolotti and there was maybe ten small agnolotti on the plate. Very very disappointed, left hungry, and broke.
They could not make one order of gluten free pasta to go!!! Really??? Thanks for nothing!
To get them to just answer the phone is a feat unto itself. Nothing special for very special prices.
Blue Moose is better than Toscanini. Bad food. Lacking service. As a party of four at the beginning of January 2011, we were given slow service and the food was not flavorful as I expect of Italian restaurants. I wish we had gone to the Blue Moose or the Dusty Boot again and had a reasonably priced meal that was good. All four of us were underwhelmed and wished we could send the food back. Two plates of food came out cold/luke warm. The basalmic vinegar was very good, but a little oil and vinegar for bread is not worth $35 per plate. Toscanini was slow in seating us. There were many open tables with place settings already on the tables, but the host had to supervise others actually setting a new table for us. All around, this was a night to forget. If Toscanini was this bad during the height of the season, how can one expect it to be throughout the year?
We had dinner here last night and the food & service were substandard. We paid about $470 (before tip) for food that was tasteless, overcooked, and poorly served. Basically, for this amount of money you can dine at Vail’s La Tour, which is excellent. Overall, this place has become the proverbial tourist trap. Beware!
