Comfortable homey feeling with quick wait staff. My dish, egg New Orleans consisted of nicely fried egg plant topped with creole sauce and two poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. I chose potatoes (nicely flavored) over grits for my starch dish. Stan, my buddy, had Eggs Benedict that had a very nice portion of ham. Both came with large buttermilk biscuit. Quaint place to go for any meal. The Beignets look delicious all puff up and covered with powder sugar but I was fall at this go around. Tables are rather small. Not sure if it met ADA standard’s.I saw no rampsfor entry. would call first before visiting to make sure they can accommodate your specific disability.

It’s my go to place to get some hot beignets and chicory coffee. It can be very crowded at times, so plan for some wait. The service is sometimes spotty. spiceroots.com

Gone Down Hill/ I will not go back. The Ponchitrain Breakfast was horrible. I have had this dish before. This time it was pretty scary. Imagine runny grits on a flat plate. The fish was greasy. I am Gluten free. They are not doing a corn meal breading anymore, so it was just the filet cooked in grease and it was burnt tasting grease. The trout was fishy tasting also. The grits were runny and not warm and they were over the top of the trout. The poached eggs may have been okay but they were ruined by the Cold hollandaise sauce. The coffee has never been good there, so I am done. I am not going back.

Very Nice Breakfast. I finally got around to breakfast at Lucile’s. I am not sure why it took me so long, as it isn’t far from my house and I pass it regularly. I really enjoyed the breakfast. Coffee was hot, fresh and strong, the beignet very tasty. I had Eggs Eisenhower for breakfast with a combo of grits and potatoes, along with a side of the spicy sausage. It was a perfect accompaniment to the coffee and potatoes.

Fun place with great food!. We enjoyed our breakfast at Lucile’s. The creole breakfast was delicious…the red beans and the biscuit were awesome.
