Recommended to me by the Concierge at the Double Tree as the best restaurant in Breckinridge. Recommend a reservation for weekends and holidays. We were able to get in and we’re seated quickly in a Tuesday night for dinner. By the time we left at 7pm the restaurant was almost packed. Hostesses made the initial good impression with a courteous and cherry demeanor. Our waiter (Eric) was absolutely fantastic. He was ready to share the night’s specials and was incredibly helpful, friendly and attentive. We enjoyed adult beverages, appetizers, and entrees. Cost is pricy, but the food is delicious and worth the splurge. There was an expansive wine menu and the Victorian motif was ever present. This very clean, semi-upscale restaurant is a must go!

If it was ‘couth’ I would have licked my plate. However…it isn’t so I didn’t. Guess I just have to come back to enjoy the spectacularly cooked elk. I highly recommend this place. The only downfall (in my opinion) is the wines by the glass options…which are minuscule.

Hearthstone is an upscale restaurants in Breckenridge. It might be the premier upscale restaurant around. It’s located in a Victorian historical house built in the 1880s. Since this is an actual house, the tables are placed in the different rooms. You won’t be able to see the different looks based on where you are seated. We sat in a tiny room with four tables just to the left as you walk in. I wished we could have seen upstairs. Wherever you sit you will enjoy the decor of this lovely home.Service here is pleasant an interactive. We really enjoyed our server. She knew the menu inside and out. She had a pleasant sense of humor, and was helpful with ski recommendations. The food was very good. Executive chef Michael Halpin and sous chef Jim Zoeller have done a fabulous job of mixing unexpected ingredients to create great flavors. A poached egg in panko crumbs is a great example. For appetizers, we ordered Wild Mushroom Soup and Organic Field Greens & Arugula. Both were decent, but not great. For entrees, we ordered Duck Duck Cous Cous (love the play on words), Butcher’s Cut Steak, Cedar Plank Organic Salmon, and Harris Ranch Filet. The duck duck cous cous is a mix of apples, cuos cous, vinaigrette, whole grain mustard and other ingredients. They blended beautifully. The honey glaze on the salmon tasted incredible against the cedar plank. The cedar board was placed directly on the grill. The salmon arrives still sitting on the charred plank. The other two plates were just as well prepared. For dessert, we ordered English Sticky Toffee Pudding. Wow, awesome! So why did I give this place a four if everything about it is a 5.0? Price. It’s really expansive. That probably comes with being in a resort town, but still I will think twice before I come back. We had one drink, three appetizers, four entrees and one dessert. I would plan on $65-100 per person if you eat here.

One block east of main street, about 1/2 way through town, you’ll find this big, blue, beautiful Victorian house. I bit more upscale and creative in their menu with a fabulous beer assortment. We had the Caprese Salad (special), Blackberry Elk, Colorado Buffalo Short-Ribs and Harris Ranch Filet with organic Colorado mushroom cabernet demi-glace. They also cater to gluten-free diets, so have at it. Lots of goat cheese, so if you’re not a fan…well…ask for subs. cinfullysimple.com

On our first visit we were so impressed we decided to see if it was a fluke. Happy to report it was not as the second visit was equally as enjoyable as the first. In our opinion one the best dining experiences in Summit County. The crispy lobster and scallop appetizers were fantastic, as were our entrees of elk, lamb and cedar-planked salmon (for salmon lovers – best ever). Great service both times.

Set off from the hustle and bustle, Hearthstone is a great choice for elevated food that’s full of flavor. Lots of local ingredients are used and the room is cute and quaint. It’s definitely one of the nicest places in Breck, but you’ll pay for that more than you would at nearby casual spots. omnomct.com

A delectable little House of local eats. Appreciated the locally sourced flagged items – The staff are thrilled to tell you more! Had amazing chops and local whiskey.
