It’s called a Dive Bar. Jakes is a great bar with good bar food. Check your political correctness at the door, yes things are a little over the top sometimes but STFU, Rubin is not a racist, served his country and now thankfully serves Breck. I encourage everyone, regardless of creed, color or gender to stop by, grab a beer and have a few laughs. I have been to Jakes during ski season for the last 6 years and its the best spot in town to chill after the slopes.
Utterly Terrible Place. The owner/operator is a racist. I wouldn’t go back if he was giving out free beer. I didn’t try any food, but if I was starving I wouldn’t eat there. Anyone who would patronize this place must secretly hold racist views too. It also wouldn’t surprise me if the money on the walls that get’s donated to the Wounded Warriors project get’s siphoned off, as I believe the owner/operator (Ruben) has no honor whatsoever.

Blatant Gay Bashing. I wish I could rate them less than 1 star. I live in Breckenridge and while my sister and friend were visiting I decided to go to Jakes. A bar I RARELY go to, due to the reputation of character here, but they were the only bar that would have karaoke during their visit, so we went.I have never witnessed the caliber of gay bashing as I did that night. I am a straight female and witnessed a young lesbian girl be publicly discriminated against on a microphone, in front of the whole bar, by the owner, three times!!! I do not know who the girl was, but I felt so horrible for her! I was mid-song on karaoke and got stopped so the owner could harass her on a mic! I gave my mic back to the karaoke DJ and was done! Not only was there blatant slander but the bartender was so drunk he made the wrong drinks for my sister and her friend. Vodka Redbull = some strange concoction with orange juice. Whiskey sour = rum and lemonade. Awful experience. NEVER going back!!!! I will not spend money at a place that is so homophobic, discriminatory, and unashamedly rude!Oh and the food is very blah.

Awesome pizza. Great place to hang out. Nothing fancy but COOL
We are from Ohio … Best food we have had in Colorado! Pickle chips great… Pizza made with love just as waiter said it would be.
