Fantastic sushi, beautiful room, great staff!
Downhill with a Tail Wind. We have been loyal frequent customers of Sonoda’s County Line location for years. The kindness of the staff, the attention and detail of the sushi chef has been nothing but stellar…..until now. They are under new ownership and it shows in a bad way. Sonoda’s had a certain down home, quiet charm about it. The new owner came in and it seems like he is trying to turn it into a sports bar. The big screen TV went up, the decor changed, the servers are wearing different uniforms, the sushi chef’s are wearing a look of quiet suffering on their faces. And to top it off, they trashed the loyalty cards. The food is still good but they are making subtle changes for cost saving that will come back to bite them very soon. It is obvious that the new owner is all about saving money and doesn’t have a care in the world about how the customers are interpreting these changes. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Sonoda’s was most certainly not broke. And don’t bother with the downtown location, unless you like staring at nose rings before you eat. Yummy!
Great service, good food.. Sit at the sushi bar if you can. It’s fun to watch the skillful chefs prepare beautiful dishes. I always get the green salad when I come here because I love the ginger-carrot dressing. The sashimi and sushi are very fresh, and the portions are generous. The restaurant is not very large, but it has enjoyable, aquatic-themed decor. Finally, the waitstaff is very attentive, pleasant, and eager to please. Overall, this is a very solid sushi eatery.
Mall Sushi…. Might sound not that great, but this is one of my fav. sushi places in Denver area. Great rolls. Seating isn’t that great and can be crowded on weekends, but excellent food.
