New Place, Same Great Food & Value. The Briarmart recently moved from behind the Chapel Hills Mall to their new location in a former Mexican restaurant on the 6800 block of North Academy and Brookside Road, right across from Freaky’s and South Jersey Subs. They have a broader selection of Mediterranean foods on the market shelves, and the same fantastic dishes like gyros, the best fries, top notch hand formed and marinated lamb/beef kebabs, chicken and even spanikopita. The food is always freshly prepared, perfectly seasoned, the salad sides are super crispy, and the tzaziki is the best I have tasted. The proprietor is very friendly, committed to his community, determined to keep the prices reasonable and the service genuine and responsive to all his clientele. The facility is quite utilitarian, simple, but clean. That is how meal prices remain around $7 to $9 and are among the best lunch deals in town. The array of Middle Eastern spices, Arabian coffees, exotic teas, unique condiments, and canned and jarred vegetable sides from Central and Southwest Asia are a delight to sample and expand one’s culinary horizons. Even the stocked breads are made based on traditional Afghani or Lebanese recipes. This place is a foodie wonderland and warrants a visit from those lunch and dinner folks who simply like really good food, and the shopper looking to venture into the extraordinary. Briarmart is among the best Colorado Springs locales, and should be tops on your list to try.
