I am not a particularly classy individual. I like greasy pizza, cheap Mexican food, and any restaurant that has a soda fountain. When I’m in the mood to slip into a dress, apply false lashes, and drink expertly crafted cocktails, though, Black Pearl is always my first choice. I’m WAAYYY too poor to afford a full meal, but their truffle fries and fantastic drink selection make the lingering hunger worth it. They also offer exceptional service: I was recently caught in a flood on South Pearl Street, and although they were closed for the evening to celebrate their 10 year anniversary, they brought me in and offered me a drink while I figured out how to get back to my car.
Fantastic Evening. There were 7 of us that ate at this perfect little resturant right off Pearl Street for a business dinner. It was a small resturant but the way the seating was set up we never felt crowded and got to sit outside at this great stone table that had a fire pit built in that was lit for us later in the evening. Our server Adam was knowledgeable in every aspect of our dining experience and made several recommendations throughout our evening. The drink menu was original and we had a great time trying several of the cocktails. As for the appetizers, we ordered calamari, oysters and a cheese and meat platter, all were servered in a unique manner and there wasn’t a complaint from any of us. In fact the chesse and meat platter was so great, we had to order a second. The dinner menu had just enought options to meet all of our cravings. The only small disappointment was the 2 bottles of wine we wanted from the menu were out, but their recommendations for substitutes may have been even better choices! Of course we had to order several of the desserts to get a perfect sampling and I think every bite was eatten. Would I recommend this place? Absolutely! Will I be going back? Definately
NEW CHEF WOW!!!. Recently dined here on New Years day for brunch and this was apparently the first day of the new chef, thing have made a 180 from day one of the new chef we had all the specials and they were a prelude to the new menu and all I have to say is I can not wait to see what comes out of this kitchen in the future. I have already booked tickets to the first wine dinner of the year which I have been assured there is going to be a freshly butchered antelope paired with a merlot. I cannot wait…

This was an excellent restaurant. Open doors with a pleasant atmosphere, felt great to be outside in the summer. Also, they have a fire that comes on on the deck once it cools down. Very impressed with food and service. Would highly recommend.
They could’nt possibly be this bad…. Great atmosphere. I have to hand it to them once some food came out it was pretty tasty. I don’t want to knock this place too hard so all I’ll say is I would not wish my worst enemies to have dinner here. Where to start… There is nothing worse than going to dinner with an agenda of treating yourself and your party, sparing no expense, and waiting for cocktails(three people at the bar), Waiting to order(half the tables are occupied), getting cold steak (sent back twice). All of this only removed 2+ hours from my life and a heavy bill based on technicalities of the billing system. On a birthday dinner reservation they knew of before we even walked in the door. Rest assured I and whomever I can mention this to will not be dining at this establishment again.
