Lovelovelovee D Bar. My and my guys favorite place for date night-we always get the pizza salad sandwich. Simple but absolutely delicious. The crue fries are to die for when you’re being decadent and we just tried the brussels-yumm. They pack a little heat and crunch, I could have eaten them all by myself. They also weren’t too heavy or dense feeling like some can be-will be a new permanent fixture in my regular order there. Their desserts are incredible too but I tend to favor the bacon wrapped dates for a salty sweet to finish my meal. The only down side about the new location is their seating-not the biggest fan of their metal chairs. They seem so at odds with the cuisine of simple yet elegant comfort food with a twist-they are uncomfortable, stiff and freeeezing in the winter time. I had to sit on my coat this winter and my tush was still cold. How to solve this? Grab one of the booth spots and it’s perfect 🙂 Oh and can’t wait to sit on their new patio in the sunshine soon!

D Bar Dates. The bacon was cooked crispy to perfection and the combo of the sweetness of the dates with the bacon was amazing.

Go for the fresh baked cookies!. I had the dressed avocado salad and fresh baked cookies for dessert. The peanut butter cookies were to die for!

Great Food and Great People. I think I’ve had everything on the menu and it is all top quality, very thought out, clever and delicious. The staff is very sweet and courteous. Although everything is great, my two favorites are the steak and chicken and waffles. If there is a long wait you can always go have a drink at the local bars within walking distance until things calm down.

A nice treat. I wouldn’t go here often, but it was a nice experience. Service is friendly, but a little slow. The restaurant itself is very small, so weather permitting sit outside. The coffee was excellent, but you only get 1 specially, individually brewed cup (which came after we had devoured our dessert). We ate cheesecake, and although it was good, the rum caramel and coffee cream were the best part of the dish.

Dessert Bar: A Sweet Experience. I went to Dessert Bar in the Uptown Neighborhood on the night of my twenty-fourth birthday. My boyfriend took me there to celebrate and we had a fantastic time. The food was delicious and unique, and well presented. The service was good once we actually got a table although we did have to wait almost an hour to get one. And the environment was a comfortable fusion between formal and informal, where the waiters wore t-shirts but they served food with professionalism and style. Overall, I would say that this restaurant is perfect to celebrate a special moment in your life, to go on a date with a special someone, or to fulfill your artisanal dessert craving. Firstly the food was great. My boyfriend and I decided to order two different plates and split them together because we could not make up our minds about what to order individually. I ordered the Kobe Sliders that came with drunken onions and white cheddar. These mini burgers tasted great and were a nice thing to share between two people. They were nice and hot when they arrived to the table, and they tasted like real Kobe beef, which is hard to find around Denver in my experience living here. In contrast to my popular choice, my boyfriend ordered something very original. He ordered the pizza salad sandwich, which consisted of a small thin, homemade pizza crust with pesto sauce, mozzarella and goat cheese, as well as mixed greens. After all of the ingredients were placed on the pizza crust, they folded it in half, which is how they turned this delectable vegetarian pizza into a sandwich. This was by far the more delicious of the two plates that arrived to our table that night. The flavors were a perfect mixture of slowly melted the cheeses in the warm, freshly made thin pizza crust. These two dishes went perfectly with the unique wine selection that they had. Throughout the entire night I enjoyed drinking several different sparkling wines from all around the world. They had Moscatos from Italy and Australia, as well as other options that I had never seen in other restaurants that are similar in size and quality to Dessert Bar. This part of the wine list I especially enjoyed because they offered all of these wines by the half glass or full glass, which I had never seen before. And, as I do not drink very much alcohol, I loved being able to order half glasses so I could drink little and try different wines at the same time with each course. After eating the main course, it was time to eat dessert! This was the moment that I had been waiting for. The waiter brought us the dessert menus, and after looking at it for a while, I did not see anything that I loved. But, inside in the display case they also had numerous dessert options that were not on the menu that looked delicious. As the restaurant is named Dessert Bar, and I absolutely love to eat sweets, I was very excited. I finally ordered a milk chocolate and white chocolate brownie that was tasty. Our waiter also brought a small plate of artisanal chocolates compliments of the chef because my boyfriend had mentioned that it was my birthday earlier in the evening. All of these things tasted great, and what I liked the most was how all of these things were made right there in their kitchen by their chocolate chef. And, all of these things went perfectly with their selection of sparkling wines. The presentation of the food was the most interesting part of the entire experience for me. Each plate had a very special look to it that I think only exists at this restaurant. The Kobe sliders were perfectly round with nicely toasted corresponding tall buns. And the plate that they came on was a long, thin rectangle that had a minimal garnish on it. This type of presentation made these simple sandwiches look fabulous and even more delicious than they really were. The presentation of the pizza salad sandwich was also beautiful. The plate that was used had very unique dimensions and had an artistic drizzle of some special sauce on the corner. This personal touch created a sensation art being mixed with food that took me beyond any common, everyday eating experience. It stimulated both my taste buds and my eyes at the same time. The only aspect of our evening was that we had to wait a long time to get a table. We arrived at around 6:45 pm on a Tuesday and we stood there waiting for almost an hour. And, waiting there for that long made me lose my hunger at first, but when the table opened up, I was ready to eat. The wait was long, but the staff treated us well during that time. The waiters and bartender continued to offer us drinks while we waited. They brought us half glasses of sparkling wine and constantly updated us about any possible table that was going to open up soon. This professionalism of the staff made the wait much more tolerable, and it was one of the primary reasons that we did not go somewhere else. In conclusion, for me Dessert Bar in the Uptown neighborhood was a wonderful dining experience. The beautiful presentations of the food, the great sparkling wine list, and the professionalism of the staff all made this beautiful evening possible. And, I had a nice birthday dinner that I will never forget.
