Don’t believe the rave reviews. Holy smokes this place was horrible. My family and I were in Durango for the weekend and this was the only breakfast spot that was open on Sunday that served more than pastries and coffee. We would have been better off having breakfast at 7/11. The steak with my husbands steak&eggs was a hockey puck, but a hockey puck would have had more flavor. The scrambled eggs were very overcooked, the hash browns undercooked. My hash browns tasted fishy, really fishy like they had been in a pan that cooked fish… yesterday. The service was the worst. The waitress rough and rather crude with poor customer service skills. The table behind us ordered chocolate chip pancakes for his son and when she served them, the customer asked if they really were chocolate chip pancakes because he could not see chocolate chips in them. She told him he could not cut into it to check because if he did she would not be able to give it to another customer. Seriously? Made me wonder if any of our plates had been served to someone else before they were served to us. The coffee was not even close to warm, and the creamers at the table were all curdled and chunky. There was absolutely nothing good about this place. The worst breakfast I have ever had anywhere. Don’t make the mistake we made – I believed the good reviews I saw on other sites before we walked in the door of this place. Obviously the good reviews are extremely inaccurate.

Disappointing. The diner was a favorite of ours several years ago. Apparently it has changed hands since then. The food was very average, the waitress was overly agreeable, the restrooms were filthy. We had a local recommend the College Caf. Much cleaner and the food was delicious.

Great food!. After a few days of eating in Durango, we were homesick for a home made meal. Durango Diner definitely filled that need with great food, service, and prices. Just make sure you bring an appetite because their meals are oversized!

Had breakfast here every day on our vacation….the serving sizes are huge and the food was excellent! I strongly recommend The Cure with the verde.

A great diner!. The Durango Diner is a must stop for us whenever we are passing through Durango and is one of our favorite breakfast places in the entire state. So far we have only had breakfast there, but we think it’s superb. If you don’t like green chile, shame on you! The cure is amazing and the two of us can split a cure with bacon, onions(a little extra), and green chile and head off for home (Evergreen, Colorado) or the Grand Canyon with full bellies for the road. If you love GOOD hash brown potatoes, this place is for you. If you don’t, I’m sure there’s a Denny’s somewhere for you.
