Taste of India. Elegant ambience. Typical Indian fare with all-you-can eat lunch buffet (daily 11:00am-2:30pm) and Yak on the menu. Dinner menu of moderate pricing and portions. Flavors very aromatic. Naan bread especially tender and flaky. If you like spicy, ask for EXTRA thai spice. If you can’t handle the heat, try a Lassi (Strawberry!) with your meal to cool it down.

This is a great place to dine. Quiet and friendly. We visited on a Monday night. Very pleasant. I have little experience with Tibetan food but with a little help from our waitress I ordered a beautiful vegetarian noodle dish that was outstanding ! The vegetable ChowChow is fantastic. The garlic naan complimented it well and probably the best Samosas my boyfriend ever ate and he has the experience with this type of food. He had the vegetable Biryani and it is a aromatic saffron rice dish also perfect vegetarian option. Don’t turn your nose up to something different. If you live by eating burgers and fries then don’t come here. But if you have an open mind you’ll truly have a delightful culinary experience

Interesting.. We are always looking for something new. We were glad to discover this kind of cuisine in the town, we had to travel through. We ordered Samosas, as an appetizer. Also we had Daal soup (soup with lentils), Garlic naan, Chicken Tikka Masala and Yaksha Thenthuk (dish with yak meat). Everything was very interesting and tasty. Yak dish was very comforting, homy. Restaurant is conveniently located in the historic downtown, has a very nice interior. Service can be better though.

Good idea, poor execution. This sounded like such a good idea. After all, how often do you get a chance to try something like yak? Unfortunately, the execution was very poor. It was never clear who our server was. Four different staff came to our table at various times, and they clearly weren’t coordinating with each other. We gave our order to one, another came up ten minutes later (!) and was surprised that our order had already been taken. (Is that their usual standard of service?)Our entrees arrived before the papadams (bread), and my wife’s dish was not what she had ordered. The server took it back, and later returned with what was claimed to be the correct dish. It was clear that the kitchen had merely added some ingredients to the returned dish and heated the result in the microwave (toughening the vegetables). When questioned, the server assured us that it was now what was ordered, and implied that we didn’t know what we were talking about (we do, actually).Given that experience, I cannot recommend eating at the Himalayan Kitchen. I wouldn’t trust that what is served as yak (for example) really is that exotic meat.

I ate there about 3 years ago. Probably one of t he worst meals I had eaten in a while and Yes, my date was of the same opinion. I do remember one of th e redeeming t hings was the very delicious coffee which at the time was 5$ per cup at the time. Unbelievably tasty. I’m not sure how good the 20 $ per cup coffee was as I didn’t spring for that treat. As I have looked at the menu recently I notice the coffee is now 4$ per cup and they NO LONGER HAVE the 20$ coffee. It’s sad to see about everybody else had a good meal. I must have ordered the wrong things.

The service was okay but the food was disappointing. Although I ordered chicken curry the meat did not resemble any chicken I had ever had. The curry sauce was good but my husband ‘ s lamb saag lacked good flavoring / spice. They were out of the lentil crackers served typically when seated but did not make any compensation.

Great place. Stopped in yesterday for lunch. Greeted promptly and seated quickly. Buffet was fabulous, food was hot, plentiful and very tasty. Service was non-existent unless you flagged someone down. But the food was great. We will go again.
