Biggest Waste of Money Ever!. Recently moved to Estes Park and was in the mood for Mexican cuisine and decided to try this nasty restaurant. Only good thing I can say is we were promptly seated. The service was exhausting! Waited for ever for our server to wait on us. The chips were greasy, the salsa had the strangest flavor and by the time the food good to us I had forgotten what I was doing there. Enchilada was dry, the meat was tough/old…no flavor because someone didn’t add sauce. The tamale was disgusting…no sauce again, old meat too much dough. Refried beans too runny with no flavor topped with greasy cheese, the rice was dry and bland as well. The side of lettuce was old bagged lettuce that was bitter and uneatable…the diced tomatoes were soggy and looked like leftovers from someone elses plate. Cost $35 for my daughter and I to eat….biggest waste of money I’ve ever spent eating out.
Not Good. We had a bad experience in this Restaurant and it was our first time there. We came in for Dinner and another table of diners had a young child that was playing with a very loud toy gun the entire time we were there. We brought it to our waiter and their waiter’s attention but nothing was done. We said something nicely to the other table asking them to stop and that is when the restaurant staff became interested. As it turns out the other table of diners were friends or acquaintances of some one who worked there. The food was not that good mediocre. Our waiter was attentive besides the incident. Needless to say we won’t ever dine here again and we live in Estes.
So dissapointed. Thought we would try this off the beaten path restaurant. Got through one quarter of my fajita salad and bit down on a rubber band. Called the waitress over and showed it to her. She took it away to the kitchen. We waited 5 min and no manager came to our table. In the mean time I lost my appetite. I asked the waitress if I could talk to the manager. He came to our table and I reminded him what I had found in my salad. He preceded to tell us rudely that there was no way that came from his kitchen and they do not use rubber bands. He said hesitantly that the only thing he would do is deduct my meal from the Bill. He had no apology for us and we were left at our table having made felt like we were at fault at what happened. All four of my family members lost out appetite and I left not feeling full but disappointed. Oh and when we asked out waiter for our bill with my meal deducted our waiter had not been informed that my meal was to be deducted.
Suggested to us by a local and it was across the street from our hotel. Friendly service. Amazing salsa if you aren’t afraid of spice and the chicken tortilla soup was incredible!
Don’t do it. My wife and young adult children read the ratings and decided to give it a chance. My wife ordered quesadillas and they were cheddar cheese (never seen that before). I ordered fish tacos and I have had fish tacos all over the world and never have I seen some sort of soupy nasty fish put on a tortilla. I didn’t eat them. The kids were not dissatisfied, but I would never spend a dime there again and quite frankly, I would like my money refunded for the meal. $57 for 4 people to have a bad experience was outrageous.
Hidden gem. Once you get past the look of the restaurant – very blah, almost institutional – you’ll really enjoy the food. Excellent preparation and quality, priced ridiculously low.
LOVED IT!!! Don’t let the outside fool you, once you make it inside you’ll be greeted by courteous staff and great food! By FAR one of the cleanest restaurant we have eaten at…especially in Estes! They even offer VEGETARIAN menu items! SOOOO glad we found this hidden gem!! We will be back!
