Split decision from our experience. Wife liked her portobello plate, my steak and mashed garlic was not very good. Way over cooked first time, chewy the second and mashed potatoes tasted like out of a box. Also the view is ok, not remarkable.

Very, Very Good.. This restaurant was a little difficult to locate but was worth the effort. The atmosphere is great, the staff very attentive and of course the view was spectacular, we had a reservation but the dining room was not full. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meal. The coconut shrimp appetizer was excellent, I had the chicken soup and it was the best I’d ever had, For my entre, I had the Steak Dianne which was cooked perfectly and the sauce was excellent. Garlic mashed potatoes and steamed asparagus were all very good, Finished off with some Bananas Foster to round out the meal which was very good as well. This was the first time for us to eat at the View and I highly recommend it.

Good Food, Great View. Although difficult to find, The View Restaurant in the Crags Lodge, features friendly accommodating staff, and very good food. The view from the restaurant encompassing The Stanley Hotel and mountains across Estes Park is breathtaking. Our meal was very good. Our warm brie appetizer and the salad accompanying my meal were regular fare, but my trout with lemon butter sauce and summer vegetables, and my wife’s mushroom Swiss hamburger were prepared and presented just right. All in all, a fine dining experience

Don’t Waste Your Time or Money!!!!. To start with we had a reservation, but had to wait 15 minutes for a table when the restaurant was about half full. They sat us outside next to the dead flowers on the chilly patio. The view of Estes Park is ok if you like a lot of truck/motorcycle noise with your dinner. The waitress was nice, but completely inattentive. After waiting for our food for an hour, we asked to be moved inside and be served our food. They did accomodate our request and brought our food within 5 minutes. Unfortunately, my steak was completely raw inside and inedible. My husband’s dinner was passable. Shock-our waitress had no idea we had a problem. If you want mediocre food with a hefty price tag and crummy service The View is the restaurant for you. Save your money and the frustration!

Worth Every Penny. Great view and the food was exceptional. I had the wild mushroom ravioli and girlfriend had the steak with blue cheese on it. The salads were fresh. The appetizer, warm brie, was presented well. I would have to say that the service was the best I have had in a long time, maybe ever. The waitress brought out the salads after the appetizer and put in the order for the meal right after serving the salad, no rush to finish as courses stacked up.I recommend going here for dinner while in town.

Great fine dining in a town where this is rare! You can enjoy the mountains AND great food!

My wife and I love this place, the atmosphere, the food, the drinks, the entertainment, and of course the view where all top notch. I had the walnut crusted rainbow trout, with grapefruit sauce, it was a mouth watering delight. My wonderful wife had Daytona chicken with triple sec sauce and it was superb. And Dick Orleans live music was absolutely Perfect. The whole dinner was a perfect experience. Just do it.
