Best Chinese in town…. I’ve gone to every Chinese restaurant in town over the past 5 years and only college cafe has quality food. Every other restaurant always half asses everything. Ask for something spicy and they give you crap… College cafe Gives you what you ask for…I ask them for Extra spicy jalepeno chicken and that’s exactly what i get
What happened?. Used to go to College Cafe starting in 1990 something. Food was always excelllant, more than you could eat, vegies gallore and the Lo Mein noodles were one of a kind. Nothing like that, prices high, staff rude. Too much msg or something but we can’t make it to the bathroom in time. Don’t go. They suck!
Yum!. I ordered the Veggie Lo Mien and had it delivered for free! It was a pretty long wait, but the lady let me know it would be when I ordered. It also came with fried rice, which I didn’t try. It lasted me two meals, which was great for the price. Def ordering from here again!
Best Chinese Delivery in FoCo!. We LOVE College Cafe! We have never eaten in, we take advantage of their free delivery every time we order. They have great prices and you get a ton of food (and it’s great re-heated!) The delivery is always fast and friendly. They have the best Szechuan beef in town, we also like to order Lo Mein and crab wontons!
Worst Orange Chicken. Sadly, this place had the worst orange chicken I’ve ever had. The sauce was perfectly sweet and tangy, but the chicken was inedible, like it had been microwaved. It was so tough, I ate three pieces and simply gave up. I an disappointed and won’t eat here again.
It is one of those random hole the wall restaurants that you get so excited you found it! GREAT food and good prices. They always give you a ton of food. The building is a bit low class, so it’s nicer to take the food to go. The service is wonderful. Definitely a must visit.
Not the same place anymore. Back in the late ’90s I lived near this restaurant and loved their lo mein and sesame chicken. They changed ownership sometime around 2000, and became more like Panda express, everything premade and sitting on a steam table. It had been years since my last visit and we were needing some quick food Friday night. We swing by thinking things would be fast, and to our surprise and initial happiness they have returned to making almost everything as you order it. After ordering my wife and I sat down to wait, only to find out that the dining area had no heat, in fact there wasn’t much of a difference between the temperatures inside as they were outside, not a good think during a cold February evening. We decided to get everything to go, and eat in the car where we could have some heat. The food came out hot, and the portions were of good size for the price. But the food was of a low quality, the flavors were unimpressive, and way too much oil had been used in the cooking of the dishes. My wife’s lo mein was swimming in oil, and had a strange taste to it. From my perspective they survive due to their central location of the college campus, cheap prices, and delivery options. This is not a place I would ever choose when so many good Asian restaurants exist in Collins, even two or three right in the same area.
