A lovely eveing. We enjoyed a delightful dinner at Jay’s last Sunday. Chris was our waiter. He was Great! Knew the wine list, understood my dietary preferences and was gracious. He added a great deal to the elegant, laid-back atmosphere. I enjoyed the steamed spinach as a side dish, at his suggestion. Wonderful! My companion had the pork chop dish. I had ahi tuna paired with J’s Pino Grigio. We enjoyed a wonderful evening snuggled in a quiet booth. Thank you!

Really Wanted to Like It…. Having moved to Ft. Collins from Austin, TX, which is overflowing with fabulous restaurants, we were hoping at long last to find a creative and delicious dining experience in our new town.Sadly, Jay’s fell short of expectations. We started with the appetizer of Macaroni & Cheese with Maine Lobster which was tasty but not great. We enjoyed the homemade bread, and accompanying spreads. .A cup of Corn & Crab Chowder came next and it was rich and lacking in flavor.I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass with Pine Nuts & Basil Crust over Lobster Cream Sauce & Garlic Mashers. The entree name alone evokes such promise of a wonderful mix of flavors but it was shockingly bland. Very disappointingly, milk toast bland. Honestly, did the chef TASTE it? The dish was accompanied by 4 limp asparagus. My husband had the Asian Inspired Boneless Beef Short Ribs. Our first reaction to this dish is that the presentation was, well…ugly. Very unappealing -looking. Tasting didn’t yield a much better result as he didn’t like it at all (and usually loves Asian food and especially the meat dishes). He didn’t enjoy the accompanying sweet potato cake & the Korean slaw was not edible. Most of this dish went back to the kitchen. The side of spinach was OK. Nothing special. The high point of this dining experience was the Chocolate Raviolis with Chocolate Ganache for dessert. Like mini, powdered-sugar-dusted beignets filled with rich, dark chocolate, these raviolis were served with whipped cream and sliced strawberries. YUM. I highly-recommend this dessert. The staff were very friendly and accommodating & the atmosphere was lovely.Jay’s Bistro…I’m sorry we didn’t like you. We really, really wanted to but, especially for the high price point, this was a big disappointment.

Amazing short rib tacos! The beans and rice were about as bland as possible, but the tacos were so good you hardly care.

Fun Happy Hour. I am new to town and this place was recommended to me by a co-worker. I am glad we went, it was so fun. We went on a Friday for happy hour, they had a great food and drink selection. We loved the oysters! The bathrooms even had mouthwash for those of you on a date. I would recommend this place to others and plan to return.

An old favorite. My daughter and I had dinner here one evening. The lobster mac and cheese is so good. I love this place. It is always good. The staff always spot on. It is beautiful and just the best. For a special occasion or just a drink and tapas after work this is the spot in downtown Ft. Collins

Highly recommended!. This was our second time in Fort Collins Old Town area. Recommendation from a FC resident suggested Jay’s for lunch. We were pleasantly surprised! Food, service & venue were excellent and great value ! We highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner!

This is definitely a special occasion place, but a lovely place. The see service was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food was incredible. We had the baked brie for an appetizer and I’m now craving it just by writing this review. The food is quite pricey, but seems about right for what it is.
