The Best Still after several (40) years. I remember Pan Handlers 30 years ago, I don’t think they have changed much and if so, it was either better or so suttle I didn’t notice. Prices are great, one slice and you are full! Can’t explain how different it is, just need to go there or you haven’t had pizza.
Thick crust pizza. I state it as thick crust not Chicago style, as my understanding of true chicago style pizza is deep dish where a chunky sauce is on top of the pizza rather then between the dough and other toppings. This is typical deep dish, and inch or two of crust, with the sauce, cheese, and toppings in that order. I’m not a huge fan of thick crust pizza as I feel it just takes away from all the flavors the toppings provide. But my wife and son are huge thick crust fans, and both loved this pizza.

Favorite pizza in town. Panhandler’s thick crust pizza is definitely my favorite pizza in town. The sauce is great, the crust is thick and chewy, and the cheese is good, and the olives actually have flavor. Pizzas can sometimes get a little overcooked so the cheese is browned. If you’re dining in, it’s a good idea to call in your order ahead of time to avoid a long wait while your pizza is baking.
Simply the best deep dish pizza in town. It’s a bit pricey to order a whole pizza, but two pieces by the slice should be enough for most.
