Best BBQ and sides. We eat here regularly, the food is head and shoulders above most- only the ambiance keeps us from coming here for special occasions. BUT, get take-out and grab your favorite Ft Collins six pack, head home for a ball game and be ridiculously happy. Their coleslaw is the best.
Better than Texas. As a resident of Texas, I must say I was a bit skeptical about eating BBQ in Colorado. But this little restaurant amazed me. I had the massive Souza’s sampler, the beef and pork ribs both had an excellent rub and were extremely tender. The brisket was chopped, which at first made me wonder — they’d never do that in Texas — but wow; it was moist and tasty. The sides were fine (but after all, you don’t go to a BBQ place for the sides). Don’t miss Souza’s!
I am from Chicago, have a daughter who lived in Austin TX, and love BBQ. This is as good as it gets. We will be back before we return to Chicago. *****
Souza’s BBQ is darn good. My wife and I got take out from Souza’s… not wanting to cook but not wanting pizza or chineese… It was great to have a BBQ take out option. I’ve eaten a lot of BBQ from NC to KS city… and now I can say finally fort collins has a BBQ joint that I will not only be a repeat customer but will crave. Ribs had great flavor… smoke and dry rub and I enjoyed the sauces good balance of sweet and spice and tang. Also enjoyed the brisket and sides. If you like BBQ I highly recommend Souza’s. My favorite BBQ in Fort Collins.
AWESOME!. I all ready knew they had good food here, but this was my 1st BBQ. I had the smoked chopped brisket dinner and it was so delicious I savored every bite! I even ordered again the next night and now I’m going 4 a record 3 nights in a row (I may never cook again!). The delivery service is top notch and they have a very friendly staff. My hats off to you Souzas’!
Yummy Mom and Pop BBQ Shop. Had a great night at Souza’s. The Baby Back Ribs were delicious and the corn bread muffins were hot out of the oven. YUMM!
Amazing ribs, and sauces. My sons and I tried Souza’s last night and were blown away by the great flavors at this small hidden gem. Souza’s is a small, family run restaurant, but there is nothing small about the flavors in their dry rub, or their barbecue sauces. We ordered the family dinner, with a slab of baby back ribs, 1/2 pound of sausage, pork, and brisket each. All were very good, tender with great smoke flavor. My favorite had to be the ribs, with its thick bark, and smokey flavor. I also was blown away by their hot barbecue sauce, as good enough not better then all others I have tried in northern Colorado. Service was a bit slow, and the owner seemed to be scrambling to keep up with all the orders. They also ran out of a few items, which can be frustrating, however you have to love the fact you know they are only making so much each day, and it is all slow cooked and fresh. Already planning our next trip, and taking back more friends and family.
