The buffet was very affordable – only $10! – and it was worth it. The saag didn’t have any paneer (there wasn’t any offered in the buffet, so maybe Nepalese food doesn’t have it? I’d never had Nepalese before), but it was the best saag I’ve ever had, creamy and seasoned perfectly. The chicken tikka masala came in a cream sauce that was also good, but muted the flavor of the chicken seasoning. My friend couldn’t stop raving about the fried onions (the name is escaping me…pakora?), and the chickpeas were tasty too. The yak stew really is as spicy as advertised, although the meat is cooked well – not too chewy or gamey. Avoid it though if you’re not used to very spicy food!Sherpa House has a GORGEOUS patio with fountains, tiered seating, trees, and lighting. We went on a relatively warm fall day, and it was wonderful. I’d love to go back in the spring or summer and see how cool it really can be!
Although my friends are in love with this place and their bottomless chai, I thought the food was not nearly as good as it could have been. In such an adorable house, they have so many opportunities to be an amazing restaurant, but they just didn’t reach my expectations.
This place has an awesome vibe, the patio is beautifully authentic and shaded by huge trees that surround you and keeps you cool while you eat, drink, and visit. The patio does fill up fast so I suggest making a reservation . I ordered the chicken tiki masala it was good they don’t rip you off on meat but with that comes less sauce . I prefer my tiki masala with better proportions of the meat, sauce, and vegetables. This dish has hardly any veggies . If you’re like me and like to cover your rice in that sauce then I recommend asking for an extra side . They have a really awesome Asian mojito that you should try. This place is worth going to and taking friends . Also, try the momos for an appetizer they’re amazing !
What a neat place! I don’t think I’ve ever learned so much at a restaurant as I did at Sherpa House. The menu is incredibly informative and worth a read. On top of that, the food is great. The patio is quite large, but still intimate with water features and tons of trees! I shared the Chicken Tikka Masala, Saag Paneer, Chicken Makhani, and some Garlic Naan and loved it all. They also have a good selection of Nepali beer and Odell Brewing Co. beers and a modest selection of wines. Neat place to keep coming back to!
Absolutely amazing! One of our favorite places to eat around here, inside decoration is very cool but we always sit outside. Get the sampler plate!
Just got the combo sizzler to go. None of the vegetables were cooked or spiced. Only a few pieces of bland meat. Why is this place rated so highly?
Love it!!! People were waiting outside when we pulled up. My picky 9 year old had seconds. Will come here again
