The pulled pork (they call it something else) was really bad, dried out. I smoke ribs, pork shoulders and brisket and my BBQ is 10x better than this mess. On a bright note, service was very good, we had an attentive waiter. Wife had fish and did not like it – not flavorful. Give this place a pass.

Hit and Miss. The food can be really good one day and terrible the next. The sides are tasty and fairly consistent, but the they are two small. The problem is the meat. Sometimes it is over cooked and dry and others it is not cooked enough and tough. I like the spare ribs, but the last few times I have gone in the ribs have tasted like they were rushed in an oven and then slathered with BBQ sauce. The were not tender at all and had the consistency of rubber.

Tasty and lean meats. Lean brisket. Good service. It’s a chain but worth a stop for the down-home BBQ feel. Good sides, too.

Famous Dave’s is decent BBQ. I’ve had better (as in when I’m cooking 🙂 ), but I’ve definitely had worse. I’ve always thought their sauce was pretty good so I was looking forward to trying the restaurant. The kids menu has the usual variety of any family restaurant as well as a couple of special items. The regular menu has all the basics of BBQ and some items beyond those basics. The chopped pork was fine, and the helpings were plenty large. They have the good cole slaw, too. I’ll be going back.

Great No Nonsense BBQ. Famous Dave’s has a good variety of BBQ, from ribs, to pulled pork, to catfish. The St. Louis Ribs are excellent, and try the baked beans. Platters are served on (clean) trash can lids, so there’s no need to go hungry.
