I WOULD GIVE A ZERO IF I COULD. NEGATIVE, NEGATIVE, NEGATIVE. If you like a run down building that has not been maintained, dirty bathrooms, flies buzzing around your head, a booth that has so many carvings there is not a square inch of wood, terrible service, overall dirty and dingy, expensive food with inedible quality if you like these qualities, then by all means you will like the Buck Snort. Personally, I think the place is a health hazard and am surprised that Jefferson County has not shut this place down. The booths are wood and have deep carvings that trap food and debris if that is not a health hazard, I dont know what is. The paper menus were filthy with food stains. The bathroom down the hall had no hand soap yet there was a sign for employees to wash their hands with what???? No towels to dry your hands either. The deck is a disaster waiting to happen. I would question the structural stability of the entire deck. On the deck, there are plastic lawn chairs with peeling paint, an old kitchen chair with the seat half off, the screen door had a large loose board hanging, and a large hole in the screen itself. The wood on the deck is carved up and rotten. From the deck you look out at shacks across the stream below. There is not a single inviting quality about this deck and is a disaster waiting to happen. The old Buck Snort building itself is historic but it is unfortunate that the owner has not maintained it and does not seem to care about the business. Hopefully someone who is a business person will buy it and turn it around. It is not the same Buck Snort that was around in the 80s and early 90s. Do not go to this dump any good reviews for this place have to be friends — no one in their right mind would say anything good about this place- save your money and time.
