For an Indian lunch buffet I rate Cuisine of the Himalayas little above average because everything seemed very fresh. The tandoori chicken lacked flavor but I was impressed with the fact that it wasn’t dry. The marsala and vindaloo were pretty good, with a nice heat level, but seemed to lack some of complex flavors I associate with Indian food. Good naan. I will most likely continue to search for my favorite Indian restaurant.

A New Favorite!. When I try a new restaurant, my expectations are extremely low. I hate to get my hopes up and have an establishment fail to compare to what I had in mind. This is how I entered a new (to me) restaurant this week. When I arrived, I was the only customer in the restaurant and the sweet lady at the entrance took me to my seat and immediately asked what I wanted to drink. She seemed comfortable in her surroundings but also, quite shy. Later, I concluded that most of their wait staff was reserved and respectful. During my meal I never went without water or hot tea and was even offered extra rice when I devoured mine so quickly. The service was very prompt but also, not intrusive. There were few other people eating out on this rainy Monday night, so I was delighted to have a waitress that kept a watchful eye on the patrons but didnt hover. The menu is intimidating to someone who is unfamiliar with ethnic food, like myself. It is a little vague in the description of each entre but I asked my waitress what a few things were and she explained them with a smile, and patience for my lack of knowledge. Ive heard endless raves about their lunch buffet at the low price of $8.95, but I was unfortunately there after the end time of 3 p.m. The atmosphere of this surprisingly big whole in the wall is private and peaceful. The music was at a nice volume so that the few groups that were there could talk comfortably without fear of being overheard or overbearing. Now for the part we all really care about, the food. I ordered a classic, the Chicken Curry. When it my sweet waitress arrived with it the presentation was beautiful. The rice was on a simple plate with small hand painted detail and the bowl that the curry was served in was metal with beautiful hand etched designs on the side. I generally just scoop my rice into my curry but I went for the more traditional mixing of the curry over the rice this time. There were fresh, big slices of vegetables throughout the dish with chicken that fell apart in your mouth. I generally try to order new things each time I visit a restaurant but this will be a dish that I stick with in the future. I must say that with the extremely polite staff, fantastic atmosphere and phenomenal food that I have found my new favorite restaurant in Evergreen.

Great food and Great service. Took my entire family a few nights ago including a 5 and 10 year old. Everyone loved what they got and found the owner and staff to be very nice. Got the food in a timely manner and loved every bit of it. Will def. go again!

Nice Food. It took me forever to finally try this restaurant. It IS in a strip mall, but the lunch buffet is AWESOME and fresh!

Wonderful curries. The menu and service are delightful. We loved the flatbread with the dipping sauces prior to the meal. An enjoyable experience.

I can cook better myself!!. This is the worst excuse for Napalese/Indian food ever. All of our dishes were dull and flavorless. The biryani tasted like boring fried rice made from frozen vegetables. There were no rich sauces or spices. At least the wait staff was friendly. If you have a hanckering for this type of food, go to Yak and Yeti off of Sheridan and Highway 36. At least the food is reasonably good. Don’t waste your time here.

SUZANNE. This is one of my favorite restaurants. If you have a craving for curry, there is none that is better! The naan bread is awesome!
