Inattentive and slow. We have given Tuscany a few tries but won’t do it again. Last time (a couple of months back) as we entertained friends from out of town the food arrived nearly 1.5 hours after we ordered. After speaking with the owner, who graciously comped our meal, we agreed to give them one more try. Tonight we gave them that one more try and will not go back. The food is okay, but the service is just bad. Not gripey, just inattentive. We repeatedly had to ask for water refills, and our server seemed like we were more of a burden than a guest opening our wallets. Evergreen has too many other excellent restaurants. Skip Tuscany Tavern. Yes, we are locals and know the best spots in town. Tuscany Tavern is not among them.
We like. Perhaps we are not entirely neutral as this is the closest restaurant to our house, but we’re very comfortable here. We usually eat at the bar and the meatballs are the best I’ve ever had. They seem to be made from at least two different types of meat with spinach and some other vegetables ground up in them. The marinera is quite good and the bread is homemade and delish. Good wine list, but the beer selection could use an upgrade-I like darker beers than they serve. A friendly staff which takes their lead from the owner add to the atmosphere. A cozy place!
