The name says it all with no pretenses: Mexican food for Anglos. No red or green. Chicken that tastes processed. It’s a fun place to go, filled with kitsch. Kids love it. But the service and food are marginal and the drinks are about the same. I went for nostalgia – my parents used to love to take our kids here many years ago. You can’t go home again. I won’t be back.

Disappointing! Waste of $42. Very bad service and the worst michelada I’ve ever had, a sad margarita and meals that were not great. We do not plan on returning.

I am thoroughly unimpressed with this establishment. I ate here twice, and both times I left with with a very angry stomach. I gave the restaurant a second chance because I thought the margaritas affected me the first time, but sadly it is the food that caused the problem. Everything tasted great but after that it was all downhill. Eat get eat your own risk.

It’s just okay. The ambiance is nice. The prices a little high. The food is okay, much like Mexican food chains. However, sadly we made the mistake of having Christmas Eve dinner there one year. Maybe it was the night, but the service and food was awlful. Won’t be doing that again. We eat out every Christmas Eve and that was by far, our worst Christmas Eve dining experiance.

Great chips and salsa! But, thee is room for improvement on the food, rather genaric.

Sliding down the hill….. For over 20 years, no matter where I lived in the Denver metro area, I have always gone to Jose O’Sheas at least a few times a year. My parents took me there the first time when I was a kid attending Foothills Elementary. Monday, September 5th at 6:30 pm was and will be the last time ever. Three major problems. 1 – cleanliness Wow. I can’t even describe how dirty this place ended up being. Unfortunately we did not notice right away. As we began eating our 2 year old began finding cherry stems in the booth (and we had no drinks with cherries). She then dropped her crayons on the floor. I made the mistake of using my cell phone light to look for them. Yeah, I decided the crayons were lost forever. The floor under the table was DISGUSTING!!2 – serviceLisa was our server, and apparently she wanted us out very quickly. First problem, NEVER put hot plates directly in front of a baby. I was holding our 4 month old, sitting on the very edge of a large table and she puts the only plate she is bringing right next to him. Really?? Second, 4 minutes after delivering our food she comes back asking if we need boxes. I don’t eat like a ravenous jackal, and with 2 small children, we are going to need at least 15 minutes. Third, she obviously did not know the menu very well. Both my wife and my dish were missing things that were supposed to be included. Took a couple of trips to get everything. 3 – the foodWhat happened? The food here used to be good. I got the Garbage Burrito. Love it, and it guarantees left overs for lunch the next day. Well, it used to. It is now considerably smaller. And has more beans and rice filling it than it used to. Which means less meat. My wife had the #9 Gringo Plate. It says Crispy Rellenos, in the past they have been crispy rellenos. But this time, they were soggy. From the minute they landed at the table they were soggy. And the queso sauce?? Is it supposed to be that red? Almost marinara red? It never has been before. So I am sorry Jose O’Sheas, but I will not be back. Bad food I can forgive, sometimes, Maybe it was an off day in the kitchen. Bad service I can forgive sometimes. New waitperson, an off day, been slammed or short staffed. It happens. But cleanliness issues. No. That is a problem with the entire staff and the manager. That should NEVER happen. If the dining area was that bad, what’s the kitchen like? Um, no. And all 3 in day? Nope. That means that the train has come off its tracks. I’ll miss you, but I won’t be back.

I ate here tonight and was very impressed. The food and service was great…I would go there again anytime.
