Lively atmosphere, eclectic staff, and amazing Southern food!! I must admit, the food and service were lacking prior to their second opening. But now I find the food and service to be consistently amazing. The fried green tomatoes, shrimp & grits, and bananas foster bread pudding are out of this world! Even my friends, who once lived in New Orleans, were impressed with the food. A must – try if you are a true foodie!
Great Food, poor service. The food here is really good. Unfortunately the service is kind of bad. The servers are all very nice and really do seem to care and there’s usually plenty of staff on hand, but they still fall really short. We’ve all been to places where the servers appear to be working their rear ends off and yet there’s not a full drink in the entire restaurant and you have to ask for silverware and a napkin EVERYTIME you dine there, and No Betta Gumbo is one of those places. Will I ever go back? Of course I will, but they really do need to train their staff. They have to be losing money in drinks alone when guys like me would order several of them (instead of just one) if they came back and checked on us once in a while. This place really has a ton of potential with just a little training for the staff.
Unexpected Gem. On a recent business trip I was looking for a place for lunch in Loveland CO. Found this place on the Internet. Great reviews so I tried the fried green tomatoes and the Shrimp Grits. I’d go back in a heartbeat. Kitschy decor and friendly staff made this must come back location.
Robbie the server/bartender provided outstanding customer service & even tips on the local community. The gumbo had a sound roux but did need a little hot sauce for those who like spicier fare. They did serve Abita but only in the bottle, not on tap. I would recommend stopping in there for a taste of Cajun cuisine but they don’t know how to properly dress the po’boys.Lettuce, mayo, pickle and tomato is all you need on the baguette with the shrimp, catfish, oyster, and if they had it, roast beef. Still acceptable for Northern CO and the quality is excellent.
Loveland is Mo’ Betta for Ya!. Friday, March 20th our experience at Mo’ Betta Gumbo opened our eyes to an amazing authentic taste and fun atmosphere from another culture. Highly recommended; your senses will be delighted too. Take the short journey and enjoy the warm welcome and great laughter shared by Craig our host and the excellent service provided by Chrystn, both are true treasures. As for the menu and our truly authentic experience of Chef Clay’s creations……I find it a disservice to even begin to try and say how outstanding the food is; just go try it. Thank you to Mo’ Betta Gumbo for choosing Loveland, CO; we are betta for ya!
We Want Mo’! We Want Mo’!. Our party of 2 adults and 2 kids (11 & 9) shared 3 entrees. The Nawlings Pasta [sic] and Seafood Gumbo were fantastic. The Crawfish Etouffee was just very good. We could have skipped the Etouffee, still had enough to eat, and kept the meal under $50 including drinks.Last fall we had a similar meal at a seafood restaurant in Louisiana, and Mo’ Betta Gumbo is better by far. We are impressed!
The best Friday night date night!!!. I love love love Mo’ Betta! We eat there almost every week. It is my favorite place for date night. Does it get busy? You bet but that’s because the food is so amazing. Every time I go in I feel like I am eating at a friend’s house who can seriously cook (to order no less) and has the best bar anywhere (thank you, Sam!). I so look forward to seeing Craig, Crystal, and Rasheed by the end of a busy week. You guys are awesome! I always order the shrimp and grits (with no no no spice because I am that dreaded whimp) and they make it exactly the way I like every time with one exception. The one time I got a little spice (which I am sure for any normal person would have been lovely but was too much for me) they made it right. And if you are gluten-free, they will help you find what is good to eat… even desert (from time to time)! What??? I know!!! That never happens. You just keep doing what you are doing, Mo’ Betta… See you Friday!!!
