Horrible dont have michelada don’t have steak or pork arrachera o tacos de carnitas guacamole it’s terrible , the employees were nice but don’t have an idea of Mexican food I order steak and they only have burger (ground meat)
Awful…heartburn on a plate. Waitress tersely told my husband the beer selection was written in the menu when he asked as we sat down. He ordered a combo with the red chili sauce. I ordered the chile relleno plate with the green chili. We had to ask for silverware. With the exception of the chips (which were good) the food was mushy, greasy, brown, old and nasty. My chile rellenos had unmelted velveeta in the middle. Neither of us finished our food. The owners must know locals who are putting undeserved good reviews online. This place is heartburn on a plate…eat here at your own peril.
Ok this place isn’t terrible- I’d give it a 3 out of five, but I was expecting or hoping for more. I had huevos rancheros with green chile. The sauce was like a brown gravy with chiles in it- definitely not authentic. And the eggs were swimming in it. The cheese is also excessive and more like tex mex or American style Mexican. But at least it’s a local place, and the service was friendly
We use to go to El Nopal weekly, but last time we went the food was so bland, not served hot, will not eat there again!
Recommend…. To get the mexican pizza with half red and half green chili.
We went there based on the reviews here, and we were severely disappointed. The food was very bland with melted cheese being the lone attempt at flavor. The chicken in my chimichanga tasted like it had been boiled with no seasonings.
