Great Sloppers !!. My wife and I were visiting Pueblo, CO, in September 2014, and friends said that we MUST have sloppers at Gray’s Tavern. We never heard of ‘sloppers’, but were intrigued by our friends’ insistence. So we ordered sloppers – hamburgers on half-buns, covered with cheese, chile and onions – and they were absolutely FANTASTIC! We are so glad we experienced Gray’s sloppers! The Alaskan dark beer was great too. And, the waitresses were super fast!

Good food dive of a place. Hard to keep an appetite once in the bar as its not very clean. Red chile slopper much better then the green.

Great slopper. So I went in on a Sunday about 2:00 in the afternoon. It wasn’t swamped but it wasn’t slow either. I sat at the bar and the waiter took my drink order and gave me a menu but it took a few minuets for a waitress to take my order, not a terribly long time but a bit longer than it should have. Anyway the staff was polite and friendly and it didn’t take long to get my slopper(my first ever). I ordered a double slopper with green chili, onions and fries on top. It was great, I almost went back later that night for another, it’s so good. Most of the burgers I’ve gotten since I moved to Pueblo have been mediocre at best. Like the patty is just kinda there as a filler with no real flavor. Not gray’s, they do there burger patties right! Everything else about it was equally as good, the green chili, fries, the chopped onions were great, even the bun was good. If that is the second-best in town then I’ll have to check out Sunset Inn for sure, but the bar is set pretty high.Edit- Today I went to sunset inn to see for myself who makes the best slopper and I can say with confidence that Gray’s is better. Sunset’s is a little on the bland side but not bad. Everything about Gray’s just tastes better, burger patty, green chili, even the bun is better at Gray’s.

Tomato beer is the best especially with the classic slipper. Definitely not for ones on a diet. I like this place more as a hang out.
