World Class. I seek out bakeries around the world and this one ranks high. The orange beast is fantastic. The two ladies at the counter had warm genuine smiles that were a great start to the day.Highly recommended.
Horrible owner, overrated product.
Hopscotch Bakery a FLOP. I went into Hopscotch Bakery because I wanted a really nice cake for my father’s 80th Birthday. I had asked all around Pueblo and was told to give this bakery a shot. I needed a cake for 30 people and I went into the bakery 2 weeks before the birthday party to review the cake menu and look at all choices. When I got to the bakery, it was my lunch break and I took my time to review the different cakes and confirm with my mother by phone just exactly what kind of cake my father would like. We settled on a vanilla cake that was layered in a raspberry jelly/filling and covered in a whipped cream sort of frosting. I paid the almost $65.00 – in advance for the cake, YES YOU READ THAT RIGHT $65 BUCKS, and as I walked out the door, I asked the sales clerk to please make sure the cake was done right because my father had terminal cancer and this was probably his last birthday cake, we wanted the cake to be delicious, need I say anymore…? 3 days before pick up, I called the bakery to make sure everything was on track for a pickup date of 3 pm on that Saturday. Well, good thing I called! The young man who took the order had the wrong Saturday down for pick up!!! I confirmed again the correct pickup date, and asked to make sure cake tasted & looked good!!! Time to start worrying, right??? (Always trust your instinct!) I was assured by the owner MARY, that the cake would be ready & delicious, no worries. The day came to pick up the cake, my sister went into the bakery to get the cake and she was early, 1 pm, not the 3 pm time I had given originally, but one would assume the cake would have been ready and chilling, right? Well guess what, cake wasn’t ready and my sister had to wait an hour for them to rush and put the cake together. On the way home, because the cake hadn’t been chilled properly, all the layers slid off, and the cake was no longer even, it was a mess in the box, hadnt even been decorated in any way and was as plain as all get out. When we got the cake into the house, we were able to move the layers together, smooth the frosting and chill the cake over night for the party the next day. Sunday comes, party day with 30 guests and its time to cut the cake. Well, needless to say, the trust your instinct came back to mind and all I kept thinking was $65.00 BUCKS FOR WHAT??? I could have got a cake at Safeway that would have tasted better. It was dry, flavorless and the raspberry filling was nothing more than jelly. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!!! I brought the leftover cake to work the next day to share with my co-workers, who all agreed, the cake was not good at all and I got screwed. I was urged to call the owner, let her know what happened. I didnt want my money back; I was upset that this cake had turned out a flop! When I called Mary to voice my opinion, she was rude, hateful and said she knew I was trouble the moment I walked into the bakery to order the cake, and made the comment that it was probably my fathers last cake, please do a good job. I again said, Look I dont want my money back, this is about good customer service! She actually had the nerve to tell me not to come back into her bakery again. How could I tell/share a 2 day old cake with my co-workers? Has this woman lost it? Was all I could think! Needless to say, as Mary was yelling at me, I hung up and decided to write a review. Never again will I step foot into this bakery, and I would highly recommend if you ever need a GOOD cake, go someplace else
Amazing cookies!. Love this place! Owner and staff are always super friendly. They make their own icecream- pistachio and lavender are to die for! And the kitchen sink cookies- literally the best cookies I’ve had in my life! My daughter loves the raspberry tart cookies but if I don’t eat my cookies right away she will steal mine
Sinful cookies. I will make this short and ohh so sweet. I am allergic to wheat but I gladly go through my body’s reaction and savor every crumb of the amazing cookies and everything else that this bakery offers!!
Wonderful…. Staff and food are amazing… nice gem of a restaurant that places emphasis on quality and local ingredients. definitely recommended.
