Mediocre food with a side of UGLY service. Zero Stars. This place is terrible. The first time I went here, there was no one in the place and they wouldn’t seat us until our friend who was parking was physically in the building. The food that time was mediocre at best. Canned beans? Yuck. Any place that calls themselves Mexican and serves canned beans is automatically not worth going back to, IMO. The second time was much, much worse. I ordered a to-go order for myself and the people in my office. They were rude on the phone. When I got there I asked to add two beef tacos to the order. They stated it would be an additional half hour to make two beef tacos. I said, really? Ok, nevermind. The woman responded, what do you think this is, Taco Bell? You must be stupid if you think you can get two tacos added to your order in under half an hour. At this point I demanded my money back and she said, I take that back you aren’t stupid, you are an idiot. So if you want rude people, piss poor service, and canned refried beans this is the place for you. Stay away! Vomit
The Real Deal for a Pueblo Breakfast. This place is one of my favorite breakfast spots in Pueblo! It is quirky, so deal with it! That is why it has character and is worth checking out. The food is simple and delicious with enough flare to make it distinctive fare. I highly recommend the Martinez Omlette and the green chile. I like a bit of spice, and I salute the Martinez Cafe for having the gumption to serve an authentically piquant Southern Colorado favorite. My kids love this place, too. The service is wonderful, and I feel very welcomed. I like that this restaurant has some rules about cell phones and disruptive behavior. It makes this more of a personal dining experience as opposed to a raucous free-for-all high-density family-feed-lot like most chain restaurants.
My Father Would Have Never Let This Happen, I am Sorry!!. My father, Alfonso Jesse Martinez Jr. (RIP) was the owner of Martinez Cafe and he sadly passed away four years ago. He would have NEVER EVER treated anyone like this, and I have to apologize for my rude aunties. I am so sorry to everyone that has had to experience how cruel they are. They put a bad rep on my family’s name. My grandfather and their father, Papa A.J. would have been absolutely horrified by their behavior!! My dad’s restaurant used to be such a joy and now they have turned it into a nightmare! I am so sorry again, I wish they were different but they WILL NEVER CHANGE!! Please remember that Martinez Cafe used to be a lovely, colorful, happy place to go!! Peace, Love, Light
The Martinez Cafe has the best Mexican food in Pueblo. However when it is served with a side of discrimination- either racial or for having children, then I cannot stomach how good the food is. My husband and I will never patronize this establishment again because of the ill-treatment/service we received by the owners and their employees.
Cafe Crabby. Just dont go.
