Worst experience ever. Stay away at all cost. I Would not recomend this place to my worst enemy. Had reservation at 7 pm. Got there on time got sited within 10 min. Ordered drinks and a bottle of wine. Got them with in min. Ordered appetizers. Got one in about 15 min. Then 10 min later got the next and 15 min later got the third one. Ok. Then 3 of the six meal showed up without the mash potatoes that were ordered. Asked them about it and was told oh yeh we are out of mash potato. We ordered fries instead. Well the stakes were getting cold and the fries arrived 15 min later. Then we got two more entree without mash potatoes again. Mean while the salad that was ordered still not there. Asked about it and was told oh yes sorry its coming. The salad got there and still missing one more entree. It was scallops. Everyone was finished with their meal and my Doughter was still waiting for scallops. 25 min later after asking for the scallops still no sign of it. The waiter was making a joke about it how they were out catching the scallops. Could not get service to save my life. Had to ask for water multiple times as they were not very attetative or responsive. Asked for the check twice and was finally given one. We ordered one bottle of wine and was billed for three. That was the straw that Brock the camels back. We were very lucky that my wife checked the bill or we would have been over charged $140.00 extra for the other two bottle of wine that we never ordered. The lightings are really bad and the place is very dark. I think, that is done purposely, so that they can over charge you and you can not see the bill or they are hoping and counting on people not looking at the bill and just pay it. Service was pethetic food was not that good and way over priced. After the pethetic service that we received the manager/owner never once came over to apologies for the pethetic experience or the crap service that we had received. The Moran waiter went to the owner and let him know that we caught them at it. He never came over to even apologize or make mends with us. They are Russians and I think this is a front for something else. They have no business being in RESTURANT business in my opinion. They opened at 5:30 on a Christmas Day and was out of mash potatoes and various other items. How in the heck is that possible. We researched them on line before making reservation. Clearly all the reviews are done by the employees or friend or family members. Im almost sixty years old and have never had such crap service in my life. I told the owner on the way out and he shrug his shoulder. Thats real customer service in Russia but not in Snowmass. Would not recomend under no circumstances. Stay away at all costs.

My friend wanted to eat here because he had eaten here before when it had a different name and loved the food. We started out with the fried avocado which came with this yummy goat cheese garlicky dip. Then came the snow mass salad that had tons of bacon, artichokes, little tomatoes, lettuce, and a vinegrette dressing. Decent size and flavor. We specifically went there for the lamb shank. Per the owner, it is slowed cooked for 7 hrs and was delicious!! The portion was huge and came with sides!! I had the rib eye – also a good size with a side of asparagus – that was extra. We had the tiramisu for dessert which was so delicious!! It did not look like tiramisu but it definitely tasted like it and there was a great texture to it too. The service was very good. The only bad thing may be that for some meats, the sides are a la carte…otherwise it was so delicious and worth the money.

Check it out!. We’ve eaten at this restaurant several times- this year and last; never disappointed. The owners are on site, very friendly- Ned is especially helpful with the food menu, and beer & wine lists. Every recommendation has been AMAZING! The menu is eclectic- certainly something for everyone- a couple kid menu choices, many appetizers to choose from: the fried avocado is to die for, bruschetta specials melt in your mouth- with delicious pairing of meats and cheeses. There’s several huge dinner salads with choices of meat if desired, a few schnitzel entrees (the owners are from Serbia! Give them a try- surprisingly good), a couple seafood entrees- Ahi Tuna, scallops, several tender, scrumptious steaks- even their sides of mashed potatoes and asparagus are mouth-watering….and do leave room for dessert- all made fresh on site (the chocolate cake with raspberry sauce is my fave!)You won’t find pasta or Mexican here….so Little Mammoth is a nice complement to Il Poggio and Venga Venga for Snowmass’ limited restaurant scene….but with a more intimate, friendly ambiance.

Nice surprise, great people. We’ve eaten here several times, the food is always good, there are some surprises on the menu, generous portions, owners on site. Desserts are amazing if you still have room, and are great to share. Live music adds to the good-time experience, European feel.
