Fabulous Restaurant for our Wedding Reception. The only way to describe my experience with Mambo is FABULOUS! My fiance and I were looking for a venue for our wedding reception, and I cold called and spoke with Andy, one of the owners. He had done other events but never a reception, but was excited about doing one. From the get go he was so helpful and enthusiastic. We had our reception on their patio and it was perfect! We got so many comments from the guests about what a great venue it was and we couldn’t have been happier with our venue choice. Literally, I could write a book about all the good things but here are some of the highlights: —The Staff— I can’t say enough about how wonderful the staff was. Andy, the owner was helpful, accommodating and took great care of us. He went out of his way to make sure the experience was just what we wanted (e.g. he bought extra lights for their patio to add more ambiance). His staff was great as well! Every time we stopped by prior to our reception they made us feel like royalty. The day of the event they were incredibly helpful and proactive taking care of things before we even realized they needed taken care of. It was customer service at it’s finest and many of or guests shared with us how great they thought the staff was. —The Food— The chef, Hannah is great and the food is delicious. Hannah made a custom menu for our wedding. We were a bit overwhelmed about choosing wedding food but she walked us through the process and took our vague ideas and made suggestions of things she could make (many of which aren’t on their usual menu). Every time we ate at Mambo leading up to the wedding was just as delicious as the wedding food. We also opted to have a cheesecake in lieu of a traditional cake, which Hannah made as well. It was literally the best cheesecake we’ve ever had!!—The Space—What initially drew us to the restaurant was the ambiance. The restaurant feels nice/fancy but with a laid back vibe. Our entire event was held outside on the patio which has a bar window so you can order drinks outside. They also have beautiful planters of flowers that add to the feel. We arrived for our 6:30 reservation only to be told that we had already been seated. They say the wrong party, one that lies about who they were. The host did not have the balls to tell the interlopers that they would not be served at this time and should wait til 8 for a free table or go across the street to beau Jo ‘s as we had to do. BYW beau Jo’s has pretty god pizza.
Had dessert here. The tiramisu was great as was the grilled peach a la mode. And our waitress was a hoot!
Should probably stick with Pizza. Very heavy on garlic on light pasta dishes to the point of ridiculous. Friendly service though.
Great restaurant and a fun bar to sit at and watch the chef cook. Order the lasagna. It will change your life.
Have been three times and never had a good experience. Service is worst I have experienced in Steamboat. Will not go back.
