We ate there again. Again the food was fantastic. Found out they are open for lunch on Sunday.22 Mar, 2014Great food. Love the food. The wine sundae was great.
This is a great little neighborhood Italian restaurant. Food is delicious especially with the homemade pasta and bread. Marinara sauce is great on all the traditional Italian meals. Desserts are tasty too! Definitely recommend this restaurant!
Amazing. Papa Mazzottis is a homestyle Italian American restaurant that offers a simple menu filled with the basics of country Italian fare like Homestyle Spaghetti with Marinara and Lasagna. If you are looking for the complex light tastes of Urban Italian cooking, then you will hate this place. Which is fine, because that is not what Papa Mazzotti’s intends to be nor is it what they sell. What they sell is simple, and embraces the austere ingredient structures that make up quality Italian family food. I had the sausage and peppers, one of my favorite dishes and it was amazing. The marinara is very strong with the tomato basil flavoring, with a slight astringency that I for one like and when mixed with the sweet and nutty taste of their whole Semolina home made noodles served Al Dente it was perfect. The sausage was sweet and spicy, and the peppers had a nice smoky taste. It was very well rounded. It very much reminded me of the tastes I had while working in a small village in Italy, where you most often ate at someone’s home rather than a restaurant. Simplicity done well, that sums it up. The beauty of good Italian is its simplicity and they do it very well.
Amazing service!. We have been going to PAPA Mazzotti’s for many years! We have NEVER had a bad meal! Very friendly staff, family owned & love their new location!! Keep up the Good Work!! I recommend them to all my friends & family! 🙂
Yum!. Our meal was wonderful. Our dessert was wonderful. Love the neighborhood atmosphere at the new location in Eastlake. I will be back.
Little Italian Big Taste. This family owned restaurant recently moved from 104th and Colorado to Eastlake area in Thornton near 124th and Lake Avenue (off of York Street). We ordered the Family Dinner of spaghetti. It came with a full loaf of fresh bread, a large salad, and homemade noodles w/meatballs and sausage. It was enough to stuff three adults and three kids with leftovers which were immediately finished off the next day. My picky son loved the meatballs and wanted more. This is coming from a kid that doesn’t like to eat anything. The salad was a pleasant surprise as most places serve iceberg lettuce with skimpy dressing but not Papa Mazzotti’s! The salad was a fresh mix of salad greens, fresh tomatoes, various greens, croutons, cheese, shaved carrots, and pepperoni served attractively. The homemade noodles were the best. They were nice and thick but not overcooked. The sauce is full of flavor and not some canned tomato sauce with a few herbs. The decor is quaint Italian and the restaurant is in a new building with private parking. The menu has plenty of selections if you are looking for more than just spaghetti. If you want a nice glass of wine with your meal, they have that too.I don’t know why I see bad reviews. The place was full when we went and service was very friendly. Judge for yourself and give Papa Mazzottis a try.
Terrible!. Terrible food. Watery salad. I thought they rinsed the lettuce and forgot to shake the water off, so the dressing was way watered down. Sauce tastes burnt. Home made pasta? Really??
