Monday is Lobster Night at the Chowder Pot! Yes share a 21lb lobster for a steal plus two sides each and dessert. Great menu deal. The Chowder Pot knows their seafood ! Lobster bisque is superb!
One of my CT favorites.. I loved going here when I was in CT. Service, portions, food was always perfect. Even when I showed with a large crowd.
Food was good, service was good also. They forgot the avocado on my salad, but quickly returned with plenty on the salad. The greens looked and tasted bagged, dressing was very tasty.My husband and mother in law enjoyed their crab cakes, and sweet potatoes fries were good.Overall good food for the price.Atmosphere is old and dark.
Lots of Quantity, Very Little Quality. I have mixed feelings about this restaurant, but will give it a slight dislike.Pros: Extremely good portions. The food was mostly OK. Great Bread served with the meal.Cons: Very poor service, some items like the sauce for my wife’s encrusted tilapia tasted freezer burned.I ordered fish and chips, and was surprised to see my plate come out with two full plate size filets, and a ton of fries. The fish was just OK, but I loved the thick crinkle cut fries. The bread was great, side salad was really weak. My wife’s encrusted tilapia was hit and miss parts seemed cooked well, and others were not. The sauce for that seriously tasted freezer burned so I am glad they brought it out on the side. Service was terrible. It took about 15 minutes for our waitress to visit us, and then once she finally took our order she brought us the wrong stuff twice. And needed reminders to bring things we had asked for two other times. Another waitress at the table next to us dropped a plate onto a man who had obviously just come from church, and was fully dressed. It makes you wonder if both waitresses in our section were nightmares what are the rest like.The bottom line is that if you are starving you will like this place, because the portions are huge, but I would not expect quality.
Maybe the best clam chowder in NE or anywhere. Crab cakes yum, yum.
