Nothing amazing but good greasy food. Had the cheeseburger, MAC n cheese bites, clam strips, and fish platter. Disliked coleslaw, clamstrips were the favorite thing I ate. Had ordered clam chowder but they were all out of it. Go figure.
It’s no longer cash only! (10 dollar card minimum though) One of the best cheeseburgers I’ve ever eaten. One of the only cheap yet delicious late night spots !
Cash Only. Must try the deep fried mac ‘n cheese. It is worth the wait in line.

Merritt Canteen is the best!. I have a long history with the Merritt Canteen It’s a Bridgeport Classic has been there for 50 years. I love the food and the service is always the Standard of You get it as soon as it’s cooked and that’s really fresh! No Hot lamps. It;s a great place when your hungry for Hamburger French fries and Soda In a hurry… I would recommend it in a second!
