OK, Not Great. The restaurant is nicely appointed and definitely not a biker bar as noted by one reviewer. Food is a little pricey for Danbury, but no…

The Owner Needs To Stop Posting Bogus Reviews. There should be a way to stop owners from posting ridiculous glowing reviews of their own failing restaurants. If your food wasn’t bad, you wouldn’t need to flood us with obviously fake reviews of your bad restaurant.Case in point : Della Francesca is simply a dump… a dive biker bar that wants to be better than what it looks like… a dumpy divey biker bar.I cannot imagine anyone who wrote a good review of this place ever even SAW what a dump it is. I call shenanigans on all reviews here and I suspect they were ALL posted by the owners.Aside from the grotesque scenery, the food meets up with the decor… except maybe the gravel outside might have tasted better. Limp, half spoiled veggies = appetizer at Della Francesca! Days-old frozen, then overcooked and re-cooked steak and seafood? Check! This is a restaurant nightmare.
Good food. I went there to celebrate my birthday with my boyfriend and we decided to try this place out. It was really fancy, but really pretty. I got the mushroom risotto which was really, really good. The only thing i diddnt care for, maybe im just not used to it is the fact that you have people standing over you watching you as your eating to make sure you dont need anything else. I love the fact that they are all for the customers but i just wish they wouldnt be constantly watching. overall i would reccomend it for the its food. Oh and be prepared to pay because the food is really expensive (for danbury)
Updated Excellence. I am a regular at Della and continue to find the service and food to be without equal in Danbury. My wife has a daughter who is a vegetarian and a mom who is gluten free and another daughter who is 12 and who orders off the menu! None of this is a problem…Mike and the wait staff take such orders in stride, and the service and timing of the meal flows on perfectly. A little observed treat at Della is that dessert options include Bananas Foster, prepared with flames and gusto by Johnny, the owner. Bottom line – the more you allow Johnny and Mike and their staff to serve you and your guests, the better the meal.19 Jan, 2010This is not only the best restaurant in Danbury, it is the ONLY great restaurant. Phenomenal Northern Italian cuisine, fanastic service with an omnipresent wait staff that is never intrusive, and a moderately priced high end wine list. For romantic dates, business private functions or just eating by yourself at the bar with the owner, Johnny Mersini, as your attentive host and companion, you can’t go wrong at Della. Be sure to try the portobella and crabcake appetizer and the Veal Saltimbucco main course.
The Outside Doesn’t Do It Justice. Very nice decor. The most attentive, well-organized service I’ve seen in a long time and very good food. Priced reasonably for what you get. Just had a very enjoyable meal there. It was crowded, but not noisy. Minestrone was excellent. My wife had the lobster ravioli which she enjoyed very much. I had veal saltimbocca which came with spinach and mashed potatoes. Preparation and taste of sauce were very good, although I have to say the veal was a little overcooked. Creme brulee for dessert was nicely done. Little thing, but I tend to drink a lot of water with a meal, and my glass was unobtrusively kept full at all times … which often does not happen elsewhere. Dishes were served in a timely manner, together, and, key for me, hot. Also, it was easy to get someone’s attention. As the wait staff went through the room, they were alert for people who might need something. Would definitely go again and try some different items or possibly one of the specials that sounded interesting. All in all a a very enjoyable dining experience where you really felt like they were taking good care of you without being intrusive.
Skimpy on his food..have to pay for his outdoor lounge I guess. But food is good….pricy
Some of the best Italian food I have eaten outside of Italy!
Fantastic!!!!. As the other reviewer has stated, this may be the best restaurant in Danbury, but its definatly, hands down the best Italian in Danbury. The staff is very polite and very attentative. They were at our side whenever we needed them. I went with a party of 8 and we were all very impressed with the food. They had sooo many excellent choices, as well as specials, it was very hard to choose (this is a good thing). At the end, they gave each of us a complimentary cognac or Limoncello. Seriously, give this place a try if you havent already. I cant wait to go back…
